Feeder Service 230 was originally introduced as a short-distance route linking new residential estates at Kim Keat and Toa Payoh East with Toa Payoh Town Centre and MRT Station in 2023.
Plans for this service were revealed by Mr Chee Hong Tat, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Finance & Ministry of Transport as well as Member of Parliament for Bishan–Toa Payoh GRC (Toa Payoh West–Thomson) in a Facebook post in April 2023. According to the post, the service would be ‘implemented in the coming months’. It was later launched on 24 September 2023.
Route Extension to Caldecott MRT
At the launch of the Land Transport Authority (LTA) Bus Connectivity Enhancement Programme (BCEP) in July 2024, a bus service was slated to be extended to connect residents in Toa Payoh East to Caldecott MRT station, to improve connectivity from Toa Payoh East to the Thomson-East Coast Line and the Circle Line. LTA had planned to introduce this bus service by the end of 2024.
However, in an update on 6 December 2024, LTA revealed that this bus service would be Bus Service 230, with extensions to Toa Payoh Lorong 7 and 8, as well as to Caldecott MRT station. The implementation date was then revised to by February 2025, with Transport Minister Chee Hong Tat explaining that the delay was due to the additional time needed to construct the new bus stops for the extensions.
In mid-January 2025, the finalised implementation date for the extension was announced to be on 26 January 2025.
Extended Route from 26 Jan 2025

Actually can construct a roadside terminal along TPY link near the roundabout for buses to layover. Once the area around Caldecott MRT becomes more developed, can build a Caldecott ITH and amend a few more services from TPY Int to here.
The last stop technically functions as a roadside terminal
Actually I would prefer they extend the route for 230 and 235 to call at an additional proposed new bus-stop along Toa Payoh West right outside MSF, which also serves as a turn-around for service 235.
if 230 can en-route toa payoh int like 265 did, it will be better.
The it seems like 232 is sorta redundant since ppl can take 230 from Toa Payoh MRT along Lorong 2 to Lorong 7 quicker and back to the MRT… But I agree wif @busbus about Lorong 1a…. Hmm
Ppl will take 232 from TPY to Lor 7 because faster than 230, which will have to loop before reaching. Besides, 232 gets demand from Braddell MRT.
And for the Lorong 1A issue… the road is one lane. Buses cannot stop or else will cause a car blockage behind since cars cannot overtake. Thus, no bus stop at Lor 1A
After the route extension, 230 will be the only feeder service (excluding short-trip services) not to terminate at a bus interchange!
265 and 268 also don’t terminate at an interchange
They visit a interchange
268 doesnt go to any interchange
Toa Payoh’s unofficial Townlink.
Can’t they construct bus stops in Lorong 1A?!
