Feeder Service 230 is a short-distance route linking new residential estates at Kim Keat and Toa Payoh East with Toa Payoh Town Centre and MRT Station.
Plans for this service were revealed by Mr Chee Hong Tat, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Finance & Ministry of Transport as well as Member of Parliament for Bishan–Toa Payoh GRC (Toa Payoh West–Thomson) in a Facebook post in April 2023. According to the post, the service would be ‘implemented in the coming months’. It was later launched on 24 September 2023.
Future Route Extension to Caldecott MRT
At the launch of the Land Transport Authority (LTA) Bus Connectivity Enhancement Programme (BCEP) in July 2024, a bus service was slated to be extended to connect residents in Toa Payoh East to Caldecott MRT station, to improve connectivity from Toa Payoh East to the Thomson-East Coast Line and the Circle Line. LTA had planned to introduce this bus service by the end of 2024.
However, in an update on 6 December 2024, LTA revealed that this bus service would be Bus Service 230, with extensions to Toa Payoh Lorong 7 and 8, as well as to Caldecott MRT station. The implementation date has now been revised to February 2025, with Transport Minister Chee Hong Tat explaining that the delay was due to the additional time needed to construct the new bus stops for the extensions.

Reintroduce the service 230 that is never used for 40 years
Looking at Chee Hong Tat’s FB post, it seems like 230’s route will most likely duplicate 238 almost entirely but instead of looping at Braddell Rd like 238 does, 230 will probably instead loop at either Lor 6 (Blk 1 & Blk 2) or even Lor 8A if its possible and return to TPY Int using Lor 7, TPY East and Lor 6. There may be new bus stops along Lor 7 for 230.
They should use 236 since never use before..
230 not bad what….

Think bus 230 was similar to bus 238 before the opening of the bus interchange in 1983.
Used to be 239i
I’m sure the route number 230 had been used in the past. Wonder where did it play.
1976-1983. Toa Payoh Town Ctr Ter and Lor 8 Toa Payoh (Loop)
13 December 1976 – Introduced between Toa Payoh Town Ctr Ter and Lor 8 Toa Payoh (Loop).
26 December 1983 – Withdrawn with the opening of Toa Payoh Int.
Yup.. in the 70s to late 80s
