Feeder Service 230 was originally introduced as a short-distance route linking new residential estates at Kim Keat and Toa Payoh East with Toa Payoh Town Centre and MRT Station in 2023.
Plans for this service were revealed by Mr Chee Hong Tat, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Finance & Ministry of Transport as well as Member of Parliament for Bishan–Toa Payoh GRC (Toa Payoh West–Thomson) in a Facebook post in April 2023. According to the post, the service would be ‘implemented in the coming months’. It was later launched on 24 September 2023.
Route Extension to Caldecott MRT
At the launch of the Land Transport Authority (LTA) Bus Connectivity Enhancement Programme (BCEP) in July 2024, a bus service was slated to be extended to connect residents in Toa Payoh East to Caldecott MRT station, to improve connectivity from Toa Payoh East to the Thomson-East Coast Line and the Circle Line. LTA had planned to introduce this bus service by the end of 2024.
However, in an update on 6 December 2024, LTA revealed that this bus service would be Bus Service 230, with extensions to Toa Payoh Lorong 7 and 8, as well as to Caldecott MRT station. The implementation date was then revised to by February 2025, with Transport Minister Chee Hong Tat explaining that the delay was due to the additional time needed to construct the new bus stops for the extensions.
In mid-January 2025, the finalised implementation date for the extension was announced to be on 26 January 2025.

Looks like 230 could be Toa Payoh’s Townlink service once it is extended.
According to the poster 230 wont serve toa payoh int and will instead start and end at caldecott stn in a similar vein as 114 did before the buangkok extension.
quite likely loop via lor 8 then back via lor 7 with the construction of 2 more bus stops near lor 7 (blk 5) and lor 8 (opp blk 210 hawker centre)

With BCEP mentioning a proposed extension of an “existing bus route” from Kim Keat East to Caldecott MRT, highly likely 230 will be extended beyond towards Caldecott MRT. It’s probable that 230 could become a dual loop service, where it plys the East Loop (Kim Keat), followed by West Loop (Caldecott MRT) while stopping at Toa Payoh Interchange midway

hmmm then 230 won’t be a dual loop service, most likely they’re extending it via Braddell MRT to Caldecott MRT then
There is a bus stop being built outside Blk 269A along Kim Keat Ave on the opposite direction of where 230 currently plies btw. Seems like another bus service (232?) will be amended to loop around Kim Keat Ave or LTA is going to merge 230/232 into 232G/W like some of the people here were saying. The amendments will happen when Kim Keat Ripples BTO hit TOP this year I guess.
I want Svc 232 loop in opposite direction instead
As of 2024, the 4th shortest bus service in SG
