SBS Transit Bus Service 284M was an alternate route variant of Bus Service 284, running from Clementi Interchange and looping at Clementi Avenue 3 during off peak hours daily, passing through Clementi Avenue 4.
Its last day of operation was on Saturday, 25 November 2011, after which it was integrated with Service 284.

Feeder Service 284M served residential estates along Clementi Avenue 4, connecting them to the Clementi Town Centre and Clementi Interchange. Buses do a u-turn at the end of Clementi Avenue 4, subsequently looping around Clementi Avenue 3 and Commonwealth Avenue West before returning to the interchange.
Introduced on Monday, 29 June 2009, the route variant provided much needed convenience for residents along Clementi Ave 4 to amenities in the Clementi Town Centre and MRT station. In 2006, the Clementi Bus Interchange had been relocated to a temporary site opposite the town centre and MRT station to facilitate the construction of an integrated residential and commercial development, which would include the new bus interchange for Clementi. Thus, the launch of Service 284M provided a doorstep link for these commuters, who would otherwise had to walk a longer distance from the temporary bus interchange to the town centre.
In conjunction with its launch, its parent service 284 was revised to operate during peak hours on weekdays only, while Service 284M had operated in place of Service 284 during off peak periods on weekdays, and throughout the day on Saturdays, Sundays & Public Holidays. This was likely due to higher demand to the various amenities in Clementi Town Centre during off peak periods.
Following the relocation of the bus interchange back to its original site with the opening of the Clementi Integrated Transport Hub (ITH), the original operating hours for Service 284 were reinstated, while Service 284M was discontinued. The last day of operation was on Saturday, 25 November 2011.

Fleet: Service 284M’s fleet comprised of Volvo B10M Mark III and Volvo B10M Mark IV buses from Service 284 during its operational hours.
