Bus Service 296 connects residents in Tampines North to Tampines MRT Station and nearby amenities such as Tampines North Polyclinic and Tampines Retail Park.

Upon its introduction, this service caters to residents of new HDB BTO housing estates in Tampines North, including Tampines Greenglade, Tampines Greenglen, and Tampines Greencrest, via newly constructed bus stops along Tampines North Drive 1 and Tampines Street 64.

Notably, Bus Service 296 is the first public bus to serve within Tampines Retail Park (IKEA, Giant & Courts), with a new bus stop directly outside IKEA Tampines. Previously, the retail park was only accessible via Tampines Retail Park shuttle bus services, or other bus services along Tampines Avenue 10. Commuters travelling to and from industrial buildings at T-Space and BHCC Space along Tampines North Drive 2 also benefit from new bus stops constructed outside these buildings. The bus stop outside Giant Hypermarket along Tampines North Drive 2 opened for service on 15 Sep 2024.

was amending 127 to tampines retail park an option rather than this 296?

Um… not exactly, since 127 serves the industrial area west of the park

No. 127 is supposed to serve Tampines Industrial Dr 5 not Tampines Retail Park/St 64

That’s practically impossible looking at 127 current route, Tampines Nth Dr 2 from Tampines Ave 10 is one way, and 127 also doesn’t serve Tampines North estate

Wouldn’t it make sense by just terminating at Tampines Bus Interchange since alot of commuters can be attracted?

what he mean is that the service start at Tamp Concourse then next stop Tamp Inter, then proceed to Tamp Retail Park

Then again, it would not make any sense, cos there won’t be any passenger from Tamp concourse to Tamp Inter, basically you can just walk over since is sheltered too.

      Here’s how it works.

291 – refers to Neighbourhood 2, but have to subtract by -1 because of 292 using “2” ending. In other words, fill up missing number between ex-290 in Simei & existing-292.

      292 – refers to “Street 22” or “2xx” blocks

293 – refers to Tampines Ave 3 in the West Loop since its origins.

      296 – refers to “Street 64” or “6xx” blocks

      298 – refers to “Street 86” or “8xx” blocks

haha your don’t any how la

          291 – Combine both 291 and 295
          292 – No changes
          293 – Combine both 293 and 297
          294 – Intergrated to 3
          295 – as above
          297 – as above
          298 – Current

Asper SBS Transit style, they don’t like to use old number hence skip 295 and 297, but then why not 299, reason is unknown
