Bus Service 296 connects residents in Tampines North to Tampines MRT Station and nearby amenities such as Tampines North Polyclinic and Tampines Retail Park.
Upon its introduction, this service caters to residents of new HDB BTO housing estates in Tampines North, including Tampines Greenglade, Tampines Greenglen, and Tampines Greencrest, via newly constructed bus stops along Tampines North Drive 1 and Tampines Street 64.
Notably, Bus Service 296 is the first public bus to serve within Tampines Retail Park (IKEA, Giant & Courts), with a new bus stop directly outside IKEA Tampines. Previously, the retail park was only accessible via Tampines Retail Park shuttle bus services, or other bus services along Tampines Avenue 10. Commuters travelling to and from industrial buildings at T-Space and BHCC Space along Tampines North Drive 2 also benefit from new bus stops constructed outside these buildings. The bus stop outside Giant Hypermarket along Tampines North Drive 2 opened for service on 15 Sep 2024.

I hope that this bus service 296 will have a single deck buses only due to road constraints along Tampines North Drive 2 since the introduction.
Most likely using Berth B3 at Tampines Interchange alongside 65 and 293. There is a space empty.
No berth B10
B3 for 292
Nope.. It was swapped with 292 and 296. 292 will be at Berth 3 while 296 will take over existing 292 berth due to the routing map.
Maybe can amend 127 to go through the industrial area and than loop at pasir ris st 71 and pasir ris dr 10 and make 298 North loop to serve residents of tampines st 64 and loop at tampines nth Dr 2 instead of bus service296
Why not make a 298 north loop?
Or make 296 north loop and south loop when 9XX opens
There might be insufficient space to do this again.
68 is confirmed going to 9XX when it opens.
not possible to 9XX. 9xx plus always around Woodlands, BBT or CCK area
The 9XX they were referring to is block numbers in Tampines North, not bus numbers
it may amend to not loop but end service at Tampines north interchange.
Maybe like Townlink style,1st loop to Ikea and 2nd loop to outside Tampines Int.
Yep
Doesn’t make sense for the single bus service serving a particular area to be modified away at the last moment
Not gonna happen
That’s the only public bus route they’ve ever come up with to the retail park
They’re not gonna be like, “Nvm the park guys, let’s make it waste oil at the super-near MRT-less bus interchange” (I mean, Tampines North Interchange *is* gonna connect to the CRL, but not now ofc)
There is 68 what
They don’t care
*shrugs*
