- 2005 (23 Oct): Introduced between Bishan Int and Changi Village Ter
- 2006: First bus from Bishan Int brought forward to 0545 hrs on weekdays
- 2010 (28 Jun): Designated wheelchair-accessible bus service (WAB)
- 2011 (28 Aug): Amended to ply Jln Tenaga, Bedok Reservoir Rd and Jln Damai with the partial closure of Kaki Bt Ave 1 to facilitate the construction of Kaki Bukit MRT station on the Downtown MRT Line
- 2016 (24 Apr): Amended to ply the reinstated Kaki Bt Ave 1, skipping Jln Tenaga, Bedok Reservoir Rd and Jln Damai
- 2017 (21 Oct): Serves new pair of bus stops outside Tampines East Stn along Tampines Ave 2
- 2023 (26 Feb): Amended to ply a bus-only corridor along Loyang Ave & Loyang Way with the partial closure of Loyang Ave to facilitate the construction of Loyang Viaduct & Loyang MRT station on the Cross Island MRT Line

I saw a Mercedes-Benz Citaro (SBS6550K) on Service 59 at 7:56p.m.. Very interesting, as it is not in the fleet.
Saw K230UB Euro V’s on this service too.
