Service 78 is an industrial trunk route linking the factories and offices at Penjuru and Pandan with connections to Clementi and Jurong East MRT stations. It also supplements other residential bus services between Teban Gardens and Jurong East MRT/Int, as well as between West Coast and Clementi Town Centre.
The service was amended to start service at Bus Stop 28301 – Blk 131, Jurong Gateway Road and terminate at Bus Stop 28211 – Bef Jurong East Stn, Jurong Gateway Road with the relocation of Jurong East Bus Interchange on 6 December 2020. Buses layover at Ulu Pandan Bus Depot. This arrangement was ceased with the opening of the new Jurong Town Hall Bus Interchange on 26 November 2023, where Service 78 was extended to start and terminate from.

May the time Keeper have more mercy on us who depend very much on this great bus 78. Again this morning @ Clementi mrt bus stop – timings showed 3, 6 n thereafter 24, 27 mins.
I was not so lucky and had to wait a good 20-25mins.
With the new increase, please do give us a more reasonable service. If these poor people need to clock in – they will surely been kept with undue wait time. Please regulate your services more seriously.
Since the bus layover at Ulu Pandan Depot, might as well transfer the operation of Svc 78 to SBST like how Svc 974 was to SBST.
Now an interchange/terminal/depotless service like 42, 114, 115, 135 (Kembangan is not a terminal), all premium services, Scheme B services, city direct services, 513, 715, 716, 718, 850E, 951E, 971 any many more.
Seems like 78 buses still layover at the old interchange… Got 2 TTS DDs parked there yesterday and today
soon 78 will start & end at Jurong Gateway Rd. for me, let 78 start Clementi Int & loop at Jurong Gateway Rd while 96 will start at Kent Ridge Ter and loop at Clementi Ave 3. so Clementi Int bus park will have space for 78 rather than terminate anywhere at Jurong East area.
