Caldecott MRT Station (CC17) is an underground station along the Circle Line (CCL) Stage 4, located within the Toa Payoh West planning subzone. It is built underneath Toa Payoh Rise.
By Q3 2021, Caldecott station will be an interchange station with the Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL) Stage 2, with the station code CC17TE9, as well as serving as the line terminus before Stage 3 of the line opens in Year 2022, when the line will be extended to Gardens by the Bay. The TEL station was originally targeted for completion and opening in Year 2020. However, it was delayed till Q1 2021 and later further delayed to Q3 2021 in December 2020 due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
The station gets its name from the nearby Caldecott Hill Estate, despite it being some distance away from the station. Caldecott Hill is home to private houses and the former Caldecott Broadcast Centre, synonymous with the growth of the local media industry, and originally named after British colonial administrator Sir Andrew Caldecott.
Caldecott Station serves residential areas at both Caldecott Hill and Toa Payoh West, along with landscape nurseries and florists along Thomson Road, and a mix of special needs schools and organizations in the vicinity.

Caldecott station has two platforms in an island platform arrangement. Full-height Platform screen doors isolate the air-conditioned station from the tunnel environment, enhancing commuter safety and station comfort. A set of escalators, stairs and a lift connects the platform level to the concourse level one floor above. With the concourse wrapping around the platform, a large interior space is created around the platform, giving the impression of spaciousness.
Passenger Information Systems, which are plasma display screens located at each platform, display expected train arrival times and key messages. Tactile flooring helps to guide the visually-handicapped from the platform to the station exits.
Heading south from Caldecott station, trains pass through a station box reserved for a future Bukit Brown station.

Circle Line
The station concourses at Basement 1 feature faregates for automatic fare collection and provides access between paid and unpaid areas of the station, with at least one bidirectional wide-swinging gate for the benefit of passengers-in-wheelchairs and those carrying bulky items or travelling with prams.
General Ticketing Machines allow commuters to purchase tickets for single or multiple journeys, and along with Top-up Machines, offer contactless card transactions. The station office functions as a Passenger Service Centre, and is staffed during operating hours, where commuters may make travel inquiries.
Art in Transit: “The Cartography of Memories” by Hazel Lim
The Cartography of Memories is a tribute to the places we love and the houses we lived in. Gathered through contributions from a hundred local residents and friends of the artist, this map of the larger vicinity of the Thomson and Caldecott areas is a collection of their personal histories, nostalgic memories and anecdotes of Singapore. By charting the streets, reservoir, houses and landforms of this area with their stories, it allows for their personal narratives to traverse the landscape of Singapore as the country shifts, changes and progresses over time.
Civil Defence shelter
Caldecott CCL station is one of eleven stations along the Circle Line designated as Civil Defence (CD) shelters, which will be activated in times of national emergency. Apart from reinforced construction, the stations are designed and equipped with facilities to ensure the shelter environment is tolerable for all shelterees during shelter occupation. These facilities include protective blast doors, decontamination facilities, ventilation systems, power and water supply systems and a dry toilet system.
Thomson-East Coast Line
Part of the Thomson-East Coast Line concourse was opened to the public on 28 February 2021 to connect the new Exits 2 & 3 to the Circle Line station concourse. (Main Article: New Exits & TEL Concourse open at Caldecott MRT Station, published March 2021).
Since the TEL has yet to open, ticketing machines and other facilities at TEL Caldecott Station are not in use. Faregates have been installed, but are opened for free passage. The pedestrian link between TEL and CCL concourses is expected to be converted to a paid link in future.
