This rationalisation makes things a lot difficult for those staying around the area especially Bedok Reservoir Residents around block 600 plus and 100 plus area. Residents lost 3 bus services at one go. These buses offer redundancy and increased reliability among inter town connections. By removing bus services, residents will have to wait longer for buses to come. I understand that LTA still want to proceed with the amendment and now at this stage, the decision is final.

However not always commuting by train is the answer to the problems. Trains only offer limited destinations and might not solve the amendment problems in which many residents rely on for so many years if amendment is necessary.

Suggest that they can route either service 5 or 59 to ply the route along Bedok Reservoir Road (block 629, 609, 121 and after Jalan Tenaga) to cover the lost route taken by 506. That way the residents here will not be disadvantaged as they have almost similar alternative to 506 which they rely on for so many years.

The next suggestion is to extend the coverage of 228 to ply Block 609, 121, Jalan Tenaga and Kaki Bukit Avenue 1 so that these residents have a quicker alternative to DTL instead of depending on the services around there to Bedok North and Ubi and at the same time encourage most residents around the area especially elderly to the Downtown line. Some residents have to make a 5 to 10 min walk to DTL and elderly will find it inconvenient. 228 van give respite to these group of people to commute seamlessly.

LTA needs to study the situation and convenience of different groups of people before settling down on the decision. Imagine losing 3 bus services creating difficulty to tye people.

Remove 3 bus routes, to result in longer waiting time for buses to come? Ridiculous, especially for the LTMP 2040.

Apparently LTA is mulling over my suggestion to keep 66 as a Bedok-Jurong East peak hour service with an express sector between Woodsville and Beauty World.

Nah, with the express sector a lot of sections are skipped, and there are alternatives 506/985 8 (or 26 if going to Bedok). If anything it’s 506 that deserves this route more.
