If 24 changed to ply Serangoon Central and 76 changed to ply Ubi Ave 2 – Eunos Link – Jln Eunos, can’t we withdraw 22 already.

24 cannot do that as it cannot have DD because 24 have to go to changi airport that has height restrictions 22 has DD.

Even if 76 replaces the sector of 61 from Ubi to Eunos should 61 gets shortened?

66 was terminate to travel macpherson area was so inconvenience for person like me prefer bus than train, especially this covid period, taking bus seem more safer for social distancing as most of the time I no need to sit with stranger. Supposing one way to jurong east ,I can sleep 😴 till the interchange, now I need to take bus after one bus or train after one train and time travel take longer than I take one bus 66 to Jurong east int

I am not sure whether LTA had considered the effect of amendments to residents staying in Bedok Reservoir area. From my understanding, more than half the stretch is not even near MRT station and there isn’t any bus that connects to Kaki Bukit MRT from the eastern end of Bedok Reservoir road. It seems to me that the amendments weren’t really planned well.

I can understand bus 66 since it duplicates the DTL quite significantly. For bus 22 I feel that it is a waste to just let it terminate at Eunos (and low effort planning) as there are already 61/63 from Ubi and 93/94 (+ 15/25/51/55/854) from Eunos Link connecting to Eunos/MRT. Maybe can let it terminate at Bedok via PIE > Bedok North Road > Bedok North Ave 1 or still terminate at Tampines via PIE > Tampines Ave5/1/4 as a faster alternative.

For 506 I think they just wanted to amend but couldn’t find the right justification (It only serve 1 DTL station so where’s the duplicate?)

I just wish LTA can give it a better thought on the effect of amendments to commuters, and preferably show some data to justify it (Eg. The ridership of bus xx along Bedok Reservoir Road has dropped from xx% to xx%, therefore we will amend it)

Yes I totally agree with you. The thing is that LTA doesn’t understand the situation of Bedok Reservoir Road especially from Bedok North Rd to Eunos Link/Jln Eunos. I’ve emailed them also regarding this and judging from the their reply – they are clueless.
When I told them about svc 66 served as a straight bus from BN St 1 and Ave 3 to Bedok Reservoir Road, they said you could take svc 60 instead. Isn’t that stupid?

I am speechless as it doesn’t take 5 secs for me to know 60 doesn’t pass by Bedok North St 1 and Ave 3. The closest will be 228 but it doesn’t serve the entire stretch (and LTA will probably ask you to transfer to 60 to get to the remaining stretch)

22 should extend to Bedok via Bedok Reservoir Rd, Bedok North Rd and Bedok North Ave 1.

87 should extend to UEC via Bedok North Ave 3, New Upper Changi Rd, Bedok Rd and Bedok Camp.

45 should extend to CBP via Upper Changi Rd East, Xilin Ave and Changi South Ave 1.

Ive also emailed to LTA regarding alternatives for service 506 and they seem reluctant. My suggestion is to divert either 5 or 59 to cover 506 lost sector but they seem adamant as if they think most of us are able to make transfers. They think that by transferring either 60 or 21 to connect to service 5 or 59 is feasible but they never think of the energy of transferring to multiple services. One of their stupid alternative is to take bus 8 and transfer to Toa Payoh but who would want to go on a journey with multiple stops just to connect to service 506? LTA is ridiculous

The 506 one is the most stupid, no suitable alternatives.
The official alternatives suggested are definitely those out of touch with the ground (high up in their ivory towers and look at the map and then decide those kind)

Anyone familiar with the area will know that transferring to the bustop at Jalan Eunos for 59 or 5 to Toa Payoh is not only energy sapping and time wasting like you have mentioned, but to board the bus at that particular bustop will mean almost a standing journey throughout the PIE all the way to at least Toa Payoh.

I agree with your solution about diverting just one bus, 59 or 5 (preferably 59) to the Bedok Reservoir Rd stretch, so as to minimise time loss on transfers if one wants to travel fast to Toa Payoh. So much…..for LTA CAR-LITE!!!

Sidenote; personal opinion is that Bus 8 is the joke that needs to be amended and in both directions.

Since LTA reject my proposal to extend to U-turn at Sixth Avenue. I would like to proposal a better solution to solve transfer issues.
Along Bukit Batok East Ave 6 last bus stop is B43209 (Autobacs), currently Turn Right” to Jln Jurong Kechil , I suggest using Old Jurong Road to the end and Turn Right” to Upper Bukit Timah Road (2 stop) and Turn Right” again into B42099 (Beauty world station Exit A bus stop. (Currently no buses stop at this stop from Bukit Batok Area, all buses only stop at B42159 Opp Beauty World Station), have to walk around 600-700m to reach the station, is not very convenient.
After that “Turn Left to Jln Jurong kechil B42259 Goh & Goh Building, Turn Right” to Jln Anak Bukit B42089, Turn Right” Upper Bukit Timah Road B42071, “Turn Left back to Jln Jurong Kechil B42151 Beauty World Station Exit C.
My suggestion route will benefit Commuters more faster to reach Beauty Word Station, and like me & other Commuters when coming back from home don’t need transfer 2 times for just 1 bus stop (3 buses) to reach home.
LTA new route just make a big round and turn back, it not Convenient at all. I hope you can understand.
By making this move, Commuters also can direct transfer to service 184 & 961.
