Closure of Braddell Bus Park

In a news article published on 15 June 2025, Lianhe Zaobao reported that ComfortDelGro’s Headquarters will be vacating its premises at 205 Braddell Road, with the relocation process set to begin in October 2025.

The ComfortDelGro Headquarters currently houses a range of facilities, including office space, workshops, diesel pumps, and the Braddell Bus Park, which is used for public bus operations under the Bishan–Toa Payoh Bus Package.

The relocation comes as a result of the impending expiry of the land lease at the premises.

Demolition Tender

Earlier in 2025, ComfortDelGro issued a tender notice for “Delineation & Demolition Works at ComfortDelGro Headquarters” (Reference No. TQ25A1012), with the tender closing on 4 April 2025.

Staff Relocation & Braddell Bus Park Closure

In a statement to Lianhe Zaobao, a spokesperson for SBS Transit confirmed that the company will relocate by the end of 2025 to existing bus and MRT facilities. Office staff will be moved to the Sengkang MRT Depot and the Sengkang West Bus Depot.

The spokesperson also noted that approximately 200 buses currently housed at Braddell Bus Park will be transferred to the Hougang Bus Depot.

If SBS Transit won the Tampines Bus Package, all bus services operated out of Bedok North Bus Depot will be transferred to the new East Coast Integrated Depot as Bedok North Bus Depot will soon to be demolished by end of 2027. In addition, Kim Chuan Bus Depot will be opening from 2027 onwards, will replace Hougang Bus Depot and Braddell Bus Park.

LTA won’t allow to have all 2 bus package in one depot.. Bedok North I’m sure will have an extension… There’s slightly more than 200 Bishan Toa Payoh svc to be house temporarily at Kim Chuan. It will take years before LTA to plan for replacement depot.

I think if you were to become Transport Minister, There’s no suchs operators like TTS and GAS. I knew you’re PRO-SBST but cmon this is BCM..LTA doesn’t really care about where and where except for cross border svc.
If they think like you, Soon Lee will stays with SBST.Mandai will stays with SMRTB.

Actually LTA can rebuild a multi-storey depot on the BRBP land parcel for Bishan-TPY package.

Problem is comfortdelgro doesn’t want an extension and they will move to Ubi automotive Hub.Now up to LTA to decide for bus package and depot. What I can think LTA will ask for an extension of lease for Hougang and Bedok North Depot. With all those new charging facilities I don’t think new depot can support more than 600 buses already.

Bedok North is confirmed staying for now.

Bukit Batok I am sure they will wait for Pasir Panjang Bus Depot.

Bukit Batok replacement depot is integrated with SMRT Ulu Pandan Depot.
Pasir Panjang is for current Ulu Pandan Depot that sit on residential site.
It make sense this way as Pasir Panjang is much nearer to Queen St, Shenton Way, future Marina South ITH,Kg Bahru..
For the integrated depot beside SMRT Ulu Pandan Depot, its very near to Jurong East,Jurong Town Hall,Beauty World, Kent Ridge, Buona Vista and Ghim Moh.
Likewise for Lorong Halus it’s nearer to Punggol, Punggol Coast and Pasir Ris bothways..
As for BEDOK North and Hougang I highly think they will get extensions.
East Coast and Kim Chuan cannot tank in all Bedok and Bishan-Toa Payoh fleets respectively.

Comfort side go to Ubi automotive Hub with 40 bus service bays and 350 car service bays while buses temporary go to Hougang Depot.. Good luck to Toa Payoh and St Miles off service there, quite dead mileage.. Staffs will be transfer to Sengkang MRT depot and Sengkang West bus depot RESPECTIVELY.LTA probably has plans to build a depot for them.

LTA should start running more services out of depots tbh if it’s going to incur so much dead mileage on the way to the interchange. Not exactly a fan of the idea but if they’re open to starting services from bus stop then they might as well go the whole way.

Meanwhile 45/265/268 could also be extended somewhere now that AMK depot is closed and they’ve no reason to end halfway down the road

I pity those Seletar 45 and 265/268 change and start shift at Bus stops… Can LTA do a proper small terminal at least a small cabin so that they can have break there and rest.

LTA should start planning for a new depot along Toa Payoh/Bishan corridors.. Hougang Depot leasing also expiring soon. Its very awkward and far Hgdep to Toa Payoh operations.
