Sengkang & Punggol LRT Maintenance Works (May – September 2022)

Train Services will operate in one direction along the Sengkang / Punggol LRT Lines on both the East Loop and West Loop on the following Saturdays & Sundays (except on the weekend of 9 & 10 July 2022) to facilitate extended engineering hours for maintenance works on the finger-joints of the concrete plinths along the LRT guideways.

    28 May 2022 – 25 September 2022

As part of the maintenance works, one platform of the Sengkang / Punggol LRT stations will be closed on affected Saturdays & Sundays. Train service will continue to operate as usual on the other platform and serve all stations on the loop.

As a result of the closure on affected Saturdays & Sundays, only one platform will be operational at Sengkang / Punggol LRT Stations until Monday, when normal train service will resume for both platforms.

    So…this is good and all but what if that one Platform in service suffers a fault/train breakdown(touch wood)? I guess if the other platform is safe for service, can restart that one or deploy bridging buses. Also hope for more trains to be deploy during those affected days. For Punggol, West Loop just need 4 1 Car Trains while East Loop Probably 4 2 Car Trains. For Sengkang on the other hand, East Loop only needs 4 2 Car Trains. West Loop 4 2 Car Trains or 4 2 Car Trains & 1 Single Car Train. The reason why i think Sengkang West Loop needs more is because stations like Kupang isnt serve by a bus service. Ppl living there relies on the LRT or in to a extend walk a distance to get 374.
