Woodleigh Bus Interchange is a future Integrated Transport Hub (ITH) located at Bidadari, serving residential areas around Bidadari, Joo Seng and Potong Pasir.
The interchange is the first air-conditioned underground bus interchange to be built beneath public housing flats. It forms part of the HDB Woodleigh Village mixed-use development, offering 330 Build-to-Order (BTO) flats, a hawker centre, retail shops and other community amenities.
Plans for the interchange were confirmed in September 2014, and the interchange was then initially expected to be ready by 2019. Following construction delays, the interchange is expected to be completed by end-2024, and an opening date has yet to be announced.

Rail connections are offered via Woodleigh MRT Station along the North East Line, allowing for convenient transfers between bus services at the rail network.
Interchange Layout
Located at Basement 2 of Woodleigh Village, it is the first underground air-conditioned bus interchange below Housing Board Flats in Singapore.
An indicative layout plan of Woodleigh Bus Interchange reveals a bus park with 18 bus lots—15 rigid bus lots and 3 articulated bus lots. Buses enter and exit the interchange via a combined entrance/exit leading to Bidadari Park Drive.
The passenger concourse features three sawtooth boarding berths and a linear alighting berth with space for 2 buses. In provisioning for articulated bus operations, one boarding berth and one alighting berth are designed to accommodate 18-metre-long buses.
Underground passageways connect the interchange concourse with both The Woodleigh Mall and Woodleigh MRT Station.

Brief History:
Plans for Woodleigh Bus Interchange were first revealed in a Straits Times article back in September 2014, referencing design briefs issued by the Housing & Development Board (HDB). The interchange would be built underneath HDB flats, as part of an integrated transport, commercial and residential project that will form the estate’s town centre. The interchange was then slated for completion in 2019.
The interchange would be sited within the HDB Woodleigh Village, an integrated development comprising 3 residential blocks totalling 330 residential units, a hawker centre, (Woodleigh Village Hawker Centre), a childcare centre, a Residents’ Committee, and other future community amenities. The interchange site is bordered by Upper Serangoon Road to the west; Woodleigh Link to the north; Bidadari Park Drive to the east; and Heritage Walk (former Upper Aljunied Road) to the south.
In February 2024, a Straits Times article reported that the interchange was expected to be completed in end-2024, representing a delay of five years; this was revised to a three-year delay following a clarification from the HDB, which stated that the project was due for completion in 2021 based on the construction contract that was eventually awarded. HDB attributed the delays to “significant engineering challenges” and the COVID-19 pandemic, due to the design complexity of integrating the bus interchange, hawker centre and MRT station, and extensive work needed to skirt or divert around underground utilities.
Renaming:
The interchange was previously called Bidadari Bus Interchange, as referenced within the Land Transport Master Plan 2040 and exit directory signages at Woodleigh MRT station (as of May 2023).
The interchange was renamed to Woodleigh ITH sometime in late 2023. This is referenced in the LTA travel guide for the HDB Alkaff Breeze BTO project (Link), and the launch poster for Bus Service 146 released in January 2024.

Back to Bus Interchanges and Terminals
Bidadari-Kampong Bahru can extend to Bidadari-Bt Merah instead.
New bus service can ply MRT such as Geylang Bahru, Chinatown, Tiong Bahru and Redhill. Plying bus stop that only service one service. For eg. Mei Ling St (servive 64) and Jln Rumah Tinggi (service 63).
Service 81 and 82 should be extended here.
Service 53 will also be amended here, while affected commuters can take Service 58. Service 53M will be amended to start from Bidadari Int and extended to loop at Hougang St 21.
Service 116 should NOT be extended here, due to heavy duplication with Service 147/A. Instead, Service 116 can be extended to Tampines Int via Bartley Rd East, Tampines Ave 10, Tampines Ave 8, Tampines St 71, Tampines Ave 5, and Tampines Ctrl 1/8, providing a fast and direct connection between Serangoon and Tampines. Service 116 will then be converted to bi-directional routing.
Service 142 can also be extended to Bidadari Int, via Upp Serangoon Rd and Bidadari Park Dr. Then, red and white destination plates will be provided to aid commuters at Potong Pasir Estate on the direction of travel. Service 142 will be converted to bi-directional routing.
Service 100 will NOT be shortened to start from here, to provide a direct connection between Serangoon Int and Aljunied MRT Station.
Service 135 will be shortened to start from here. Affected commuters along Ang Mo Kio Ave 8 can take alternative Service 853 or 853M to Bidadari, while affected commuters along Serangoon Ave 3 can take alternative Service 133 to Bidadari.
Service 155 will NOT be shortened to start from here, owing to unique connections between Toa Payoh and Bidadari.
In addition, Service 107 and 107M will be amended to ply Serangoon Ctrl, Serangoon Ave 1 and Bidadari Park Dr, skipping a section of Upp Serangoon Rd, to provide enhanced connectivity for residents at Bidadari and Serangoon Ave 1. Affected commuters may take the extended Service 82 instead to continue their journey.
May be considered:
Service 140 is extended to Bidadari Int via Upp Serangoon Rd and Bidadari Park Dr. Red and white destination plates to be used to differentiate travel direction when along Bendemeer Rd, Boon Keng Rd, St Wilfred’s Rd and Serangoon Rd.
Express 510 to be introduced, plying between Hougang Ctrl Int and Venture Drive Int via Upp Serangoon Rd, Hougang Ave 8, Hougang Ave 2, Yio Chu Kang Rd, Serangoon Ctrl, Serangoon Ave 1, Bidadari Park Dr, Upp Serangoon Rd, PIE, Toh Guan Rd and Jurong East Ctrl. Express 510 will operate daily at 30 minute frequencies.
In my opinion 116 SHOULDN’T be extended to Tampines. The Hougang Central-Tampines link is well patronized by bus 72, which goes a much direct way (H’gang Ave 3 and Tampines Road) unlike 116, which goes around Hougang and Serangoon.
Also, if you really want to go via Bartley Road East to Tampines, just take 129 lorr.
I have a feeling the opening will be postponed to 2020 or 2021. At this current rate it definitely doesn’t seem like it’s going to open anytime soon.
Still have a long time to open the bus routes for the area Bidadari area
Why can’t provide any of the service routes from eunos interchange to Bidadari loop so that some of the residents can get the service routes to Bidadari area only service routes 155.
Suggested purpose for service routes 152
I think buses that may terminate here would be like for example:
Svc 28 (duplicate too many buses from Toa Payoh to Tampines)
Svc 81 (Extend from looping at Serangoon Central)
Svc 82 (Extend from looping at Serangoon Central)
Svc 116 (Extend from looping at Serangoon Central)
I agree and also extend and shorten services like services 860 (From Yio Chu Kang), 88, 157 and 159 (from Toa Payoh), 57 (from Bishan), 100 (from Serangoon) and services 135 to serve Bidadari Interchange towards Ang Mo Kio only. Also, introduce new bus services that can Serve Bidadari Too
I agree and also extend/shorten bus services to here like 860 extended from Yio Chu Kang, 57 shortened from Bishan, 71 extended from it’s looping point, 100 shortened from Serangoon and put either 81, 82 or 116 to Serangoon Int and shorten 155 to Bidadari from Toa Payoh, extend 141 to Bidadari from Toa Payoh and lastly, shorten 135 to terminate at Bidadari instead of looping at Siglap Road which is a waste of time and introduce other services from like
Bidadari – Chinatown/Outram/Kampong Bahru
Bidadari – Changi Village
Bidadari – Shenton Way
Bidadari – Jurong East
Bidadari – Changi Village
That would probably be too much. Looking at the plan, Bidadari can only fit in up to 9 or 10 buses. You can’t cramp 10+ buses. There are only 3 boarding berths, unless they add one more.
– 135 can be extended to either Upper East Coast/Bedok or shortened to Eunos. However, it can be shortened because of its link with 133.
– 860 doesn’t need the extension. Those who want to go from Yishun to Serangoon can board 103.
– 57 may be a possibility because it almost duplicates 56 from Bishan to Rochor. However, if 57 is amended, 71 can take its place in Bishan.
– Extending 81 and/or 82 is possible, but I think 116 will stay the way it is.
– 155 can terminate here because the Toa Payoh-Serangoon/Woodleigh/Bartley link is already served by 28 and 153.
– Extending 141 is unneeded as it doesn’t help much if 155 is shortened. The same goes for 88, 157 and 159.
– Unless people want to utilise the Northeast Line to Woodleigh, we don’t need 100 to shorten. You can ride 135, though, if it is shortened.
As for the new bus services, one to Chinatown/Outram/Kampong Bahru is unnecessary, because of the Northeast Line. Unless it is like 80, where it doesn’t duplicate the entire line, this may not be necessary.
– Bidadari – Changi Village: This can be solved by either extending 81 to Bidadari and Changi Village(the Tampines East/Loyang – Tampines Ctrl isn’t necessary I think) or extending 59. By choosing the latter, 57 doesn’t need the extension. BTW you mentioned this twice.
– Bidadari – Shenton Way: This is unneeded because of 133.
– Bidadari – Jurong East: This is the only bus service, in my opinion, which will be helpful. The route can originate from Bidadari-Toa Payoh-Novena-Newton-Bukit Timah-Farrer-Clementi-Jurong East. This can compliment 153. I’m not saying the other suggestions doesn’t, but it’s just that the buses may duplicate greatly. Let’s name this 104.
Now for my suggestions:
I think a bus from here to Choa Chu Kang/Gali Batu is necessary because the northeast does not have a service to the western area. Lets call this 108.
If you are adamant to link Toa Payoh with Bidadari, a bus between these can be included. It can serve Bendemeer, Lavender/Jalan Besar, Little India, newton and Novena/Caldecott. Lets name this 114.
So in summary, 57/59, 155, 81, 82, 104. If you want the maximum, include 135/100, 114, 108 and I think we’re done.
You need spaces for feeder bus services also.
Must rename to Woodleigh bus interchange
