History of Activation
May 2018:

To facilitate additional engineering hours for intensive railway maintenance and improvement works, shortened operating hours were implemented on the NSL between Admiralty—Yio Chu Kang across various Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in June 2018 & 1 July 2018, except 15, 16 & 17 June. A total of 5 NSL stations were affected by the early train service end times and delayed train service start times.

Express 17 was introduced to provide commuters with faster connectivity from Woodlands MRT station to Bukit Panjang MRT / LRT station, where commuters can change for the Downtown Line or the Bukit Panjang LRTHowever, passengers are advised to check train services timings, as the shuttle bus service may not connect to the last train departing the station.

As part of the Bukit Panjang LRT overhaul, there will be no service on Sundays from April to June 2018.
