Mobileye Collision Avoidance System

Local bus operator SBS Transit is investing in technology to increase the competency of its Bus Captains. In recent months, the Mobileye anti-collision alert system has been progressively installed on SBS Transit buses, helping to reinforce safe driving behaviour and reducing the chance of accidents. Acting as an ‘extra pair of eyes’, the system alerts Bus Captains to vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists on the roads with visual and audible alerts.

Extension of Bus and Train Operating Hours for Chinese New Year’s Eve 2017

Operating hours of train services and selected bus services will be extended on Chinese New Year’s Eve, Friday, 27 January 2017 for the benefit of late-night commuters. Last train timings along all MRT and LRT lines will be extended to the early hours of 28 January, along with selected residential bus services that allow commuters to connect from the last train.

SMRT Bendy Bus Accident at Yew Tee

A SMRT Bendy Bus was involved in an accident with a car in Yew Tee, leaving the damaged bus stuck on a pavement. The incident unfolded in the afternoon of Sunday, 8th January 2017, outside Block 689B and near the junction between Choa Chu Kang Drive and Choa Chu Kang Cres. The bus involved was TIB1214B, a SMRT Mercedes-Benz O405G plying Service 302 at the time of incident.
