First Glimpses of the Yutong U12DD for Singapore

On 20 August 2025, Yutong officially unveiled the Yutong U12DD, a 12-metre, battery-electric double-decker bus. The launch was held at Yutong’s Zhengzhou manufacturing campus in China, as part of the Yutong Standards Exploration Journey event.

The event showcased the U12DD to the industry for the first time, having earlier been unveiled in May 2025. The bus features a three-door, two-staircase layout, in line with Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) specifications.

Yutong Standards Exploration Journey event

This event, held under the tagline “Driven by Quality, Creating Value Together,” emphasised Yutong’s focus on technical excellence, production quality, and sustainable transport solutions for global markets. Representatives and partners from across the Asia-Pacific region were invited.

Attendees toured Yutong’s sprawling manufacturing facility in Zhengzhou, including the Test Centre, R&D Centre, Yutong Experience Centre, and the Intelligent Manufacturing Factory for electric buses. These visits provided insights into the advanced production capabilities and innovative technologies.

The Witnessing the Power of Quality segment served as the main highlight of the Yutong Standards Exploration Journey. During the evening, the Yutong U12DD served as the striking backdrop for the event stage, bearing the tagline Higher Standard Better Quality.

Attendees were invited to tour the 12-meter premium battery-electric double-decker bus. In addition, other bus models were also on display, including the Yutong U18 articulated bus, Yutong U12 and Yutong E12PRO.

Lower Deck

The bus is designed with a full-low-floor layout with three doors and two staircases—enhancing passenger accessibility and reducing dwell time for urban bus routes with high passenger boarding and alighting numbers.

Upper Deck

The upper deck follows a similar design language, with wood-pattern flooring and seat colours. Large windows enhance natural lighting and contribute to a greater sense of spaciousness. LED mood lighting is also extended to the upper deck.
