Additional morning special departures have been introduced for the Sengkang West Shuttle Bus A, enhancing peak-hour connectivity for commuters affected by the temporary closure of the Sengkang LRT West Inner Loop (19 April – 18 October 2026).
Shuttle Bus A operates as a one-way morning peak service from Fernvale to Sengkang, calling at all LRT stations en route. The route primarily supplements travel demand towards Sengkang MRT station during the morning commute.

New Special Departures
Since the first week of LRT closures (sometime around 20 April 2026), four special departures of Shuttle A operate from Thanggam at 6.45 am, 6.55 am, 7.05 am, and 7.15 am, before continuing to Fernvale and then along the regular Shuttle A route. These departures also make an extra stop along Fernvale Road (Blk 436A), to serve students at Sengkang Green Primary School.
These special departures were not publicised within LTA’s original announcements, but were arranged following feedback from residents and publicly announced by Member of Parliament (MP) Ng Chee Meng on Facebook on 21 April 2026, who mentioned that he requested the arrangement on behalf of his constituents.
In a subsequent update, MP Ng Chee Meng announced that from Monday, 11 May 2026, all four special morning departures would be extended to start from Kupang instead of Thanggam, with no changes to the Thanggam departure times. The estimated departure times from Kupang are 6.42 am, 6.52 am, 7.02 am, and 7.12 am.

The Sengkang West Shuttle Buses (Service A & B) come as part of the wider transport arrangements supporting the six-month closure of the LRT West Inner Loop from 19 April to 18 October 2026. During this period, the inner loop (i.e. Sengkang → Cheng Lim → Renjong → Sengkang) remains closed to facilitate track integration works linked to the expansion of the Sengkang LRT Depot.
