Lakeside MRT Station (EW26) is an above-ground station along the East West Line (EWL). It is located along Boon Lay Way, near the junction with Yuan Ching Road and Jurong West Street 51.

The station was named Lakeside, owing to its close proximity to Jurong Lake. It serves as a transport node for residents of the Hong Kah and Taman Jurong areas, complemented by strong bus connections heading into these residential estates. Bus services also connect to the Jurong Industrial Estate and Jurong Port areas, making Lakeside a heavily-utilized station.

Lakeside station has two elevated East-West Line platforms in an island platform arrangement.

Similar in design to Chinese Garden station, the station’s straight inclined roof with structural beams on the inside is influenced by Chinese architecture, and supported by two rows of columns.

Construction

Brief History

Lakeside station opened on 5 November 1988, along with Jurong East and Chinese Garden stations along the East West Line. It was the western terminus of the East West Line until Boon Lay station opened on 6 July 1990.

    The new Jurong Lake Gardens is here but must walk 5mins from LAKESIDE MRT STATION EXIT C to Jurong Lake Gardens – Starbucks

    Hi there, is Lakeside station still often used for bus transfers to Jurong Industrial Estate, or has Pioneer diverted that traffic?
