Bus connections are offered via Tengah Bus Interchange.
The station is also an interchange between the Main branch and East branch of the JRL. It is targeted for completion and opening in Year 2027.
The opening was announced to be delayed by about one year in a Written Reply by Minister for Transport Ong Ye Kung to Parliamentary Question on Prioritising Early Completion of Jurong Region MRT Line on 1 Feb 2021, with COVID-19 cited as a reason.

In September 2016, an Artist’s Impression released by the Housing and Development Board (HDB) indicated that Tengah MRT Station would have 3 tracks with 4 platforms in a double-island configuration. However, the 2019 Draft Master Plan suggests a stacked island platform configuration for Tengah Station which will serve the eastern and middle track for Jurong Region Line (West & East).
The artist impression released by LTA in September 2019 confirmed that Tengah Station would be in a stacked island configuration, similar to that of Gul Circle station.
The station platforms are built to four-car length to cater for future expansion, although trains will only operate in a three-car formation.
Exits
Tengah MRT station will have several exits leading to ground level. More details will be confirmed closer to the opening of the station.
Construction Trivia
Tengah Station will be constructed as part of Contract J102 – Design & Construction of Choa Chu Kang (CCK) Station, CCK West Station, Tengah Station & Viaduct including A&A Works to Existing CCK Station for JRL, which was awarded to Shanghai Tunnel Engineering Co (Singapore) Pte Ltd at a contract value of ~$465.2 million in September 2019.
