Bus Parallel Services

Bus Parallel Service or BPS are bus services that run parallel to existing rail lines.

Although it might be arguable that buses have been running parallel to existing rail lines ever since the MRT/LRT was built, bus parallel services intentionally duplicate segments of rail lines to ease demand and provide alternative modes of travel.

With the Bus Services Enhancement Programme, more bus services were introduced which duplicate rail lines by offering bus connections between housing estates and the CBD during peak hours.

Only one service has been introduced under the BPS designation, Service BPS1. The bus service was withdrawn in November 2019.
