Bus Service 298 provides residents at Tampines North, Tampines Avenue 4, Street 82, Avenue 3 and Street 86 with greater connectivity to Tampines MRT Station, along with other amenities in the neighbourhood. The new route also benefits Tampines Polyclinic, Our Tampines Hub, St. Hilda’s Primary and Secondary School, Tampines West CC and Springfield Secondary School. This was the eleventh feeder service to be introduced under the Bus Service Enhancement Programme (BSEP).
Originally introduced from Tampines Concourse Bus Interchange and looping at Tampines Street 86, the route connects with the transport node of Tampines where further bus connections are also offered from the nearby Tampines Bus Interchange. The service continues the 29x series of route numbering used for Tampines feeder routes. It is the second feeder bus route at Tampines after Feeder 292, and the first feeder route to operate out of Tampines Concourse.
At Tampines Street 86, the route serves new Build-To-Order (BTO) housing developments such as Tampines Greenforest, Tampines Greenbloom, Tampines Greenflora, Tampines Greenlace and Tampines Greenwood. It also serves The Santorini, Q Bay Residences, and Arc @ Tampines condominiums.
The service was extended to Tampines North Bus Interchange in January 2023, serving new bus stops along Tampines Street 62.
Hybrid buses were deployed on this service from 27 May 2024.

Who said svc 298 had a scania?all I see is green Mercedes Benz citaro.
A Scania there, with Tower Transit-style wrap
Forgive me from making too much comments but it’s time to bring back full wraps and supersides. Partial wrap (apart from private-hire) is losing out in terms of attention and is annoying to see blank spaces.
Then why i see Scanias when at Tampines Nth Interchange?
