City Direct Service 671 provides residents of Sengkang West with greater connectivity to the CBD. The service provides a travel alternative for commuters who relied on the rail network and feeder buses to and from work. The route incorporates an express sector between Fernvale and the CBD via Yio Chu Kang Rd, CTE, Outram Rd and Cantonment Rd.
This is the twenty-first City Direct service to be introduced under the Bus Service Enhancement Programme (BSEP), which provides more options for commuters using stretches of the existing rail lines that experience persistently high ridership, while the ongoing rail enhancement measures are being implemented.
The tender for this route was called for on 15 April 2016. Free rides were given out to commuters on the first day of service, 17 October 2016.
The route was further enhanced under the Bus Connectivity Enhancement Programme (BCEP) from 11 November 2024, with a route extension to Suntec City via Bayfront.
If the eves of Christmas, New Year’s Day, and Chinese New Year fall on a weekday, the Evening Peak departures will be brought forward to the afternoon. Revised departure times will be provided by the operator closer to the affected date.

The bus service has been unreliable/worsen this year. Recently, the bus broke down for 2 weeks and the bus operator mentioned they did not have the spare bus. And today all the 3 buses missed the timing for morning peak.
People who had the same bad experience, please help to feedback to LTA.
What’s happening to this bus route? You stated 3 trips.. but there are only 2 buses and the buses are full to the max from beginning of the year! This is crazy..people are squeezing in at the steps.
On 31st dec 2018 the first bus was not even seen passing by the fernvale station. I was there waiting since 7.25am. Only managed to board the second bus. On 3 jan 2019, the first two bus was not seen passing by fernvale station and the third bus only came by at 8.05am. I was also waiting for the bus since 7.25am. I think lta should consider renewing the company contract or issued LD to the company for such unreliable service.
The bus never come on time, the second bus should have reach by 8am to Layar Station, it’s always late and today it came even at 8:26am!!! It states there are 3 buses in the morning but actually there are only 2 came Everyday, at least be punctual!!!
Hi, bus 671 has always missed/overlaps the bus timing for morning peak. Being a pregnant lady, in order to secure a seat, I have make the effort to wait for the 2nd bus at Layar station, so even the 2nd bus is full, I can always take the 3rd bus instead. However, the 2nd and 3rd bus always come together, and the 3rd bus always skip the Layar station despite it is half full, and I have to stand almost 1 hour to travel from Layar to MBFC ( no one will give seats to pregnant lady as everyone was either playing phone or sleeping).
I sincerely hope the management can look into this matter, at least if the 2nd bus is full, the 3rd bus should at least stop and pick up the rest of the passengers.
Thanks
671 driver did not stop for me although I was seen flagging for it. I am sure eye contact has been made with the driver but he just drove off when the bus is not even full. The frequency and services provided has been disappointing.
Just one more advice. It may be good to put an indication of the bus no. 1, 2 or 3 at the windshield. So the rest of us will not wait in vain.
Bus 550 no longer plying the sengkang east/West route. Now there is over congestion at the layar and fernvale bus stops. Please consider adding a 3rd bus to this route.
Strongly Agree
The bus got full even before last 3 bus stops, so it didn’t even stop!
Please consider more frequency.
Every day this bus got delayed….
pls keep punctuality
Every one wants to go office on time or not ….
