870 i think will become two directional service from Tengah to Jurong Town Hall…
Lease buses probably a few E6 A22 and E5 A22
It’s already going to be bidirectional service on the same day 871 will be launched.
870 actually has DD operations, which I suspect will increase with the amendment.
in the future let’s say 2025 service 871 could amend to Serve Hillview Regency Condo or amend to Bukit Batok East Avenue 4 next to the Police Station, so residents of East Avenue 4 can get to Beauty World or Tengah faster instead of walking to Hillview or The Park to catch Service 985 to Beauty World.
Hopefully this service will terminate at Beauty World ITH in the future.
Actually Gombak stadium is a short walk away from a Bukit Gombak MRT only.
Couldve amended 66 instead
Was thinking of 154. Which is currently the bus service with the most number of buses, and a bus service with huge operational challenge.
If LTA wants to break up 154, actually only need to retain 154’s unique sector from the DTL west to Boon Lay Int. The rest, can essentially take DTL, CCL and other bus services.
Thereafter, the retained 154 can absorb 871. And become part of the Bulim Bus Package.
To think about it, it’s clearer right now.
154 western leg can merge with 871.
154 eastern leg can merge with 174 western leg.
174 eastern leg can merge with 41.
