On Sunday, 28 May 2017, an SBS Transit double-deck bus and a taxi were involved in an accident at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3. The bus involved was SBS3216B, an SBS Transit Volvo B9TL plying Service 132 at the time of the incident.

Local bus operator SBS Transit is investing in technology to increase the competency of its Bus Captains. In recent months, the Mobileye anti-collision alert system has been progressively installed on SBS Transit buses, helping to reinforce safe driving behaviour and reducing the chance of accidents. Acting as an ‘extra pair of eyes’, the system alerts Bus Captains to vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists on the roads with visual and audible alerts.
