Great World City is a mixed-use development at the fringe of the Orchard Road shopping belt, just off River Valley Road. It is bounded by Kim Seng Walk, River Valley Road, Zion Road and Kim Seng Promenade. The whole complex comprises a 6-storey shopping mall, 18-storey office building and 35-storey serviced apartments, combining retail, offices and residential apartments in one development.
There are 3 different shuttle bus routes originating from Newton, Chinatown, and Queenstown MRT Stations, connecting shoppers to and from Great World City.
The shuttle bus service is contracted to Hui Leong Transport.
Great World City shuttle bus services was withdrawn on 1 Jan 2023, with the opening of Thomson-East Coast Line Great World Station on 13 Nov 2022. The last day of service was on 31 Dec 2022.
Newton MRT Station ↔ Great World City

The Newton Route for the Great World City shuttle is operated with high-floor coach buses. It operates Daily at a frequency of 30 minutes per bus.
However, on Weekends, Public Holidays & Eve of Public Holidays between 1430hrs to 1930hrs, shuttle bus services are increased to 15 minutes per bus.
The pick-up and drop-off point for the Shuttle is at Exit B at Newton MRT Station, along Scotts Road.
Apart from this shuttle route, Bus Service 5 provides alternative transport between Newton MRT and Great World City, plying from Scotts Road to Kim Seng Road, and Zion Road to Scotts Road in the reverse direction.

The Chinatown Route for the Great World City shuttle is operated with high-floor coach buses. It operates Daily at a frequency of 1 hour per bus.
The pick-up and drop-off point for the Shuttle is at Bus Stop 06171 (Opp State Ct) along Upper Cross Street, outside Block 34 and just after OG Building / People’s Park Food Centre. Passengers can use Chinatown MRT Station Exit D and cross the road via the overhead bridge or pedestrian crossing to reach the bus stop.
Apart from this shuttle route, Bus Service 970 provides alternative transport between Chinatown MRT and Great World City, plying from Upper Cross Street (Opp Hong Lim Cplx) to Zion Road, and from Kim Seng Road to Eu Tong Sen Street (Chinatown Stn Exit C) in the reverse direction.
Queenstown MRT Station ↔ Great World City

Nope, it’s a free shuttle bus service. You might have been scammed.
By the way, the boarding/alighting point at Great World City has been shifted to the western entrance driveway (Zion Road) since mid-December 2019. The eastern entrance (Kim Seng Road, Jason’s Grocer) has been closed for renovation works.
You guys started doing on shuttle services to shopping mall, good job!
