Trans Iskandar Route BET5 connects Johor Bahru City Centre (JB Sentral) with the towns of Pasir Gudang and Kota Masai, with Kota Masai the easternmost town served by JB local bus services. The route plies via Stulang Laut, Bayu Puteri / Sri Stulang, Taman Megah Ria, Taman Rinting, Pusat Bandar Pasir Gudang (Pasir Gudang town centre) and Taman Cendana, serving Pasir Gudang Bus Terminal enroute in both directions. The express nature of the route provides the fastest bus connection between JB Sentral, Pasir Gudang and Kota Masai.
The route between JB Sentral and Kota Masai is also served by JB Central Line 3, Causeway Link 9B and City Bus 133, which operate at higher frequencies but take a longer route. Additionally, Maju 224 serves between JB Sentral and Pasir Gudang, also via a longer route, and IM-15 serves between Pasir Gudang and Kota Masai.
Originally conceived as a bus rapid transit system, Trans Iskandar bus services are local and semi-express bus routes serving the greater Iskandar Malaysia region. Known as Bas Ekspres Transit in Malay, this gives rise to their common prefix: BET or BeXTRA.
This bus service is no longer in operation. Commuters can consider taking Bus Service P311 instead.
