The Tengah Line (tentative name) is a future rapid transit line currently under feasibility studies.
Engineering studies for the Tengah Line (Phase 1) are planned to commence in 2026.
Committee of Supply Debate 2025
As part of the Ministry of Transport (MOT) Committee of Supply (COS) Debate 2025, it was revealed by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) that feasibility studies for a new line, tentatively called the Tengah Line, was currently ongoing.
In addition, LTA has also preliminarily assessed that the Tengah Line and another potential rail line (tentatively called the Seletar Line), could meet at the Greater Southern Waterfront. Feasibility studies will also consider the possibility of linking both lines into a single line.
Committee of Supply Debate 2026
In the MOT COS Debate 2026, engineering studies for the first phase of the Tengah Line are slated to commence in 2026, while feasibility studies will continue to be conducted for subsequent phases of the Tengah Line.

Merged Line Studies
In the Indicative Government Procurement Opportunities on the government procurement portal GeBIZ, updated in late March 2026, an upcoming FY2026 opportunity from the Land Transport Authority is listed as “Engineering Feasibility Study for the Proposed Seletar Tengah Line (STL)” with an estimated procurement value of over $10 million to $50 million.
