Somerset MRT Station (NS23) is an underground station along the North South Line (NSL). It is built underneath Somerset Road, near the junction of Penang Road.

The station is named after Somerset Road, and along with nearby roads such as Exeter, Oxley, Killiney, Dublin, Devonshire, etc., were named after English cities and suburbs. Somerset station now serves the Orchard Road shopping belt, bringing rail connections to the retail and entertainment area, with many shopping centres, hotels, office buildings and upscale condominiums and private houses in the vicinity. Underground pedestrian walkways connect the Basement ticket concourse seamlessly to nearby developments.

Somerset station has two underground North South Line platforms in an island platform arrangement.

Concourse

The station has a ticket concourse located at Basement 1, with an unpaid corridor allowing pedestrians to use the station’s underground passages between exits without entering paid areas.

Exits

Somerset MRT station has two exits at street level (A and B) and an additional two underground exits branching out from the ticket concourse, linking to nearby developments. All exits offer barrier-free accessibility for the disabled, with Exits A and B having their own lift access. Pedestrians using the underground exits may access lifts to street level from other buildings.

Exit B is open from 5:40am – 12:30am daily.

    This website was incredibly helpful! The photos and the information aided me greatly.
    I now know that even though Somerset does not have a Ticket OFFICE, it does have a Passenger Service Centre. I plan to go there to buy ezlink cards. Am I correct that I can do that?
