I wonder if enough people take 160 all the way from JTH that converting 160 to this route would’ve affected a significant enough amount of people. They could take This feels like another 160M.

Why no from canberra rd and Sembawang road to Canberra mrt that is for the blks 302,303 onwards. Please consider about this as you have built up a new bus stop opposite Canberra Residences condos. You can give a bus through this way to Canberra mrt from Sembawang road

Huge concern on how LTA plan the route.

1st thing, bus start from Jurong Town Hall. Shouldn’t even use 984, instead 994 will be better.

2nd thing, might as well end the service at Gali Batu since already at Woodlands Road.

I prefer start Gali Batu–Jurong Town Hall Int under SMRT or like what I said before use 874 since 870 starts at JTHI.

route number isn’t a big concern
2nd suggestion, GBBT is already a layover point and formally ending the service there makes zero difference as GBBT is like Marina Centre Terminal

99x is for buses serving BBT, and 87x is for Tengah buses. Their choice for 98x over 97x when it doesn’t start from CCK is a bit surprising too though.

And whether it’s to do with something about Gali Batu Ter only having SMRT services for now, or if it’s just a formality they’re not bothered about, it doesn’t really make a difference operations-wise. Probably done just to avoid confusing people about what Gali Batu is, since 75 and 184 show the destination as Bukit Panjang. LTA is also seemingly starting to be more and more okay with starting buses from bus stops, so that’s probably why there’s no need to label it as starting from Gali Batu either.
