I think it’s the matter of execution – 146 is easier to handle its date because the route was incomplete and what’s left is to orchestrate the bus stops at Hougang Street 13.
I think 114 on the other hand has more stakeholder concerns from MPs and local residents among the routing, notably to avoid the 101 extension incident again.
Or just simply, LTA doesn’t want 114 and 146 to extend on the same day (But it also doesn’t make sense considering 104 and 984 started the same day)
I was honestly expecting them to just make 114 serve Buangkok Crescent in both directions, purely due to the 101 incident. Either that or they pull a 230 and have the Buangkok Cres service be 114M
the 114M you speak of is the exact problem i believe LTA needs to solve.
Some may not want 114 to enter Buangkok Crescent considering it does add distance (to the fare), but the whole idea of 114 is to link Buangkok Crescent to Buangkok MRT, and the removal can cause backlash, or the idea of stuffing a M-prefix to their core route while having their core route extend to YCK.
Also another problem is that 114 is heavy loaded due to its short simpler routing towards NEL stations compared to 101 and 329. That alone needs to be solved for the extension.
What about 114?

114 can deploy those 3 door E500 from 107
finally after more than a year it finally happened
There you go, a much needed extension
