Tongkang LRT Station (SW7) is a light rail station along the Sengkang LRT (SKLRT)’s West Loop. Located within the Sengkang New Town, the station is overground and built along Sengkang East Avenue, near the junction of Anchorvale Road.

Tongkang is a light boat commonly used in the past to carry goods along rivers, consistent with the seafaring theme of Sengkang. It serves nearby schools, HDB flats, and Sengkang Train Depot.

Tongkang station is overground with an island platform serving LRT services in both directions of the West Loop. Outer and Inner loop services run clockwise and counter-clockwise around the loop respectively.

Concourse

The station concourse is located at Level 2. The concourse leads to an overhead bridge that spans across Sengkang East Avenue, with lifts and stairs connecting to street level. An extension of the link bridge connects directly to Sengkang Train Depot.

History

Tongkang station opened on 29 January 2005 along with train services on the Sengkang LRT West Loop.
