Reduced Circle Line Service on Late Nights (June 2023)

On selected days in June 2023, the Circle Line (CCL) operated a reduced service on selected days between Stadium and Dhoby Ghaut / Marina Bay to facilitate additional maintenance works. On these affected days after 9 pm, trains ran a shuttle service between affected stations, at up to 20 mins intervals.

The reduced services affect seven CCL stations, namely Dhoby Ghaut, Bras Basah, Esplanade, Promenade, Nicoll Highway, Marina Bay and Bayfront stations.

Initially scheduled for 11 June–20 July 2023, normal train services resumed on 27 June 2023 with the early completion of tunnel maintenance works. [LTA update]

According to the Land Transport Authority (LTA), additional engineering hours are needed to conduct preventive maintenance and strengthening works along a tunnel segment between Promenade and Nicoll Highway station. This affected section had been subject to greater pressure and would require the installation of steel supports to the tunnel rings.

Affected commuters are advised to expect longer travel times along the affected sectors or seek alternative travel routes.

Interim Service Pattern

Two shuttle services are deployed to serve the affected stations. Shuttle Service A operates between Dhoby Ghaut and Promenade stations at 15-minute intervals. Shuttle Service B operates between Marina Bay and Stadium stations at 20-minute intervals.

Another alternative to Service 14 if you’re going to (CC6) Stadium (one of the affected station as well), you can take from Dhoby Ghaut, Bras Basah, Nicoll Highway to the Bus stop named Opp S.A. Deaf (80141), then take Service 11 which takes you to Stadium Boulevard, Stadium Crescent and Stadium MRT Station, to Tanjong Rhu Road and the future (TE23) Tanjong Rhu Station [(currently named as Opp Pebble Bay (90029) and Pebble Bay (90021)] and loops at Rhu Cross before going the opposite route back to Stadium Crescent and Stadium MRT Station (for the benefit of Tanjong Rhu Residences and visitors, it serves (CC6) Stadium Station twice), so make sure you check the red and white plate on the windscreen, red means that Service 11 is heading towards Tanjong Rhu (Rhu Cross) and White means that it is serving (CC6) Stadium Station twice and is heading to Lorong 1 Geylang Terminal.
