Aljunied MRT Station (EW9) is an above-ground station along the East West Line (EWL). It is located along Aljunied Road, near the junction with Sims Avenue.

The station is named after Aljunied Road, in turn named after Syed Omar Aljunied (1792-1852), a wealthy Arab merchant who owned large tracts of agricultural land in the area, and contributed to the development of early Singapore with his philanthropy. The station now serves the Geylang area, including nearby HDB housing blocks at Sims Place and Geylang East Central, small condominiums in many parts of Geylang, along with plenty of businesses and institutions located around Sims Avenue Industrial Estate and the many shophouses in the Geylang area.
