The main depot building contains offices and a canteen, and next to that is a sheltered bus workshop for repairs and maintenance works. A sheltered bus refuelling point with multiple refuelling lanesĀ is located next to the main building, along with an automated bus washing machine. A combinedĀ vehicular entrance and exit leads to Bukit Batok Street 23. The adjoined bus park has sheltered parking for 291 buses.

Buses deployed to BBDEP were interchangeable with its sub-depot, Ayer Rajah Bus Park (ARBP) until its closure in September 2018.

Historical Background

Bukit Batok Bus Depot was built by Singapore Bus Services (SBS), commencing operations in January 1985 after the company moved out of its oldĀ AlexandraĀ Depot. SBS buses which previously parked at Alexandra or Woodlands Depots, or Portsdown, Whitley and King Albert bus parks, were all relocated to the new depot. Located within an industrial estate, the depot is located far from nearby residential blocks, reducing noise and air pollution to nearby residents.

Spreading over 52,187 square metres and built at an estimated cost of $12 million, the depot is well equipped with bus washing machines, spray painting booths and fuel pumps. A covered bus park can hold up to 291 buses. Commonly referred to as BBDEP, it continues to provide maintenance and refuelling works for buses today. SBS Transit holds the land tenure lasting 43 years fromĀ 1 January 1983.
