Service 104 connects residents in Northshore, Sumang, Buangkok, Serangoon and Bidadari to nearby transport nodes such as Punggol Coast, Buangkok, Serangoon and Woodleigh MRT Stations along the North-East Line. It is introduced under the LTA’s Bus Connectivity Enhancement Programme (BCEP).
The service is launched as an enhancement and extension of Service 43M, which was withdrawn on 26 October 2025. Service 43M plied between Punggol and Serangoon Central (Loop).
Key differences from Service 43M include:
- Northern extension to Punggol Coast Int, via Punggol Way & Northshore Drive
- Amendment to serve Sumang Walk / Sumang Lane
- Amendment to ply the newly extended Buangkok Drive
- Southern extension to Woodleigh Int, via Serangoon Avenue 1 & Bidadari Park Drive
Passengers should note that this service skips Bus Stop 65711 (Blk 446B) along New Punggol Road; the bus stop outside HDB Punggol Point Cove in the direction of Punggol Coast.

Plans
On 24 June 2025, Member of Parliament for Punggol GRC Ms Sun Xueling revealed in a social media post that a new trunk bus service 104 between Punggol Coast & Woodleigh is planned to commence in the coming months.
Key catchment areas for Service 104 in the Punggol area were shared, such as the Sumang / Matilda and Northshore areas. Service 104 would bring direct connections for Punggol residents to Sengkang, Buangkok, Serangoon, and Woodleigh.
On 2 Oct 2025, Ms Sun Xueling posted on social media regarding the launch of Service 104 from 26 Oct 2025. In the service poster from the operator website (obtained from the QR code in the poster), Service 104 was indicated to serve a new bus stop (65669 – Northshore Pr Sch) along Northshore Drive towards Woodleigh Int in the future.
However, the updated poster released by the Land Transport Authority on 12 October 2025 showed that Service 104 will serve bus stop 65669 – Northshore Pr Sch at launch.

should i be happy or sad that 43M is gone ngl is was pretty nostalgic 🙁
But we must leave the past behind and move on!
Sad. Residents living along buangkok green is literally the losing end here. Theree more demand for people along buangkok green than in buangkok dr. And lets not forget the fact that in evening peak hours can worst from workers in imh would take 43 to buangkok mrt and 43m is very useful here. At least retain 43m if they gonna introduce 104
I disagree. You can walk to Buangkok Link from IMH for 114 to Buangkok MRT. There is no need for people from IMH to walk out to Buangkok Green just for 43/43M.
Also there is 156 to support 43 for Buangkok green to Yio Chu Kang Rd and Buangkok MRT.
What about the people from serangoon mrt then? Both 43 and 43m are full pack by the time it reaches to opp sgoon sports complex bus stop and crowding the people into a single 43 even with a double deck makes it worst. Its a reason why 43m is introduced in the first place to relieve the demand from serangoon mrt to buangkok/hougang resident along buangkok green
For the west of Buangkok Green we have 70 (70M), 103 and future 104. Buangkok Green near IMH has 101 to support 43 To serangoon MRT. Blk 257A is close proximity to sgoon sports complex bus stop which the 156 serves. Despite 156 being longer than 43, a starting 156 bus from Buangkok ITH is better support than 43M since it starts at Punggol and Buangkok is less demand.
actually most people who come from imh are office workers in the admin block and their nearest bus stop is at 64469. u wouldn’t see those office workers walking all the way to 65569 and make a loop along buangkok crescent as it’s already impractical to do so
43M was a huge loss for LTA and operationally so. 43M constantly bunches with a 43 bus, which unevenly distributes the demand, causing one bus to be filled much more than the other. Instead of better spacing out the buses between 43 & 43M, the endless clump means 43M is technically a failure at “relieving demand” from 43. It would then make more sense to increase the frequency on the main parent service instead.
I believe Buangkok Dr will receive sufficient demand to hold 104 steady. Plus Matilda, Sumang & Northshore is quite under connected now. I think 104 would be well patronised
Then are we just gonna crowd in into a single 43 with a double deck from serangoon mrt to buangkok and then leaving people who can’t get in to wait for the next bus ? In peak hours, even 43m can get very crowded and people who goes to nex would take 43m all day because its their shopping mall next door so i disagree the fact that its a huge loss. LTA would have done so already if 43m isn’t even beneficial to begin with even with the clumping that you mention
Well, now i KNOW why there were bus stops along the buangkok drive sector. You could make 104M to loop around Hougang ave 9/ st 91/93 will attract passengers from hougang primary who may live in the buangkok estate. Could use SDs.
Nice. A new mid-haul regular bus service after some years since Svc 117, 129 etc. Believe route will have gd demand being 1st service plying Buangkok Dr extn.
Service 104 will use 43M buses. So most prob majority fleet DDs. And ya could have actually used number 44 instead of 104 would have been better
Why not use 44 instead
Cuz its bad luck in chinese
There are other superstitious numbers used for bus services (4, 13, 666)
No such thing as numbers la like that scrap 4,666 better… You think SBST ah everything superstitious…
Probably being saved for a svc in the east. 10x is used for svcs in NE region.
