I don’t think service 114 is a useless route as deemed by some commenters here. As someone living near where service 114 operates, I see a good ridership for each trip starting from baungkok (Where most of the time can fill a SD to 80% capacity) and also towards baungkok mrt from baungkok crescent.

However, S114A is redundant and not needed unless there’s plans to extend S114 further. A round trip will only take at most 15 – 20 mikes. Might as well extend S114 operating hours, as per S325 which doesnt just ends at hougang ave 9.

the purpose of 114A is for faster turnaround from buangkok cres to buangkok stn (first stop). i assume only one bus will be deployed when 114A is in operation.
without 114A, buses completing a journey at buangkok stn would have to make a loop around compassvale dr, compassvale rd & sengkang east ave.
with 114A, after the last stop at buangkok cres, buses can instead use sengkang east rd & sengkang east ave for faster turnaround to the first stop.
it’s like 96B when it was originally introduced. faster turnaround from clementi stn to boarding berth of 96 without hving to go to alighting berth first.

Better if they introduce new (and useful) trunk routes rather than introducing random variants of bus services

Another meaningless crap from LTA. The stupidity in bus planning is going out of hand and too far ready.
