Bus Service 160 is a cross-border route connecting Jurong East, Bukit Panjang and Kranji MRT to JB Sentral via the Causeway. The route plies long stretches of Bukit Batok Road and Woodlands Road, providing fast connections between the residential towns of Jurong East, Bukit Panjang and Woodlands Centre.
Due to varying traffic conditions at the Causeway, travel times and waiting times may increase significantly when jams occur.
This service operates on a Friday schedule if the Eve of Public Holiday falls on a Weekday.
After 23:00 to 00:00 daily, Service 160 buses departing Jurong Town Hall Interchange will terminate at:
- JB Sentral Bus Terminal along Jln Jim Quee on Weekdays (Mon – Thu)
- Johor Bahru Checkpoint on all other days, including public holidays.
Omission of JB Sentral
Bus Service 160 will loop at Johor Bahru Checkpoint and omit JB Sentral Bus Terminal during these periods:
- Weekdays (Mon – Fri) before 8am
- Fridays / Eve of Public Holidays if it falls on a Weekday after 5pm
- Saturdays
- Sundays / Singapore Public Holidays
Cross-Border Procedures
At each checkpoint, passengers have to alight and clear immigration before boarding the bus again. When different bus services are used when arriving at/departing from a checkpoint, this will constitute a transfer for card paying passengers. If the same bus service is used, the journey is resumed. Cash-paying passengers should retain their tickets as proof of payment, and produce them when re-boarding buses at checkpoints.
At Woodlands Checkpoint towards Johor Bahru, a single queue is formed for Bus Services 160/170/170X/950. Passengers will be directed to board whichever bus comes first. This arrangement has been in place since 20 May 2022.
At JB CIQ (Johor Bahru Checkpoint) towards Singapore, a single queue is formed for Bus Services 160/170/170X. Passengers will be directed to board whichever bus comes first.

Route Limitations
Buses deployed on cross-border routes must be registered with the Agensi Pengangkutan Awam Darat (APAD), also known as the Land Public Transport Agency (Malaysia).
In accordance with Malaysian regulations, buses must carry relevant documents, be fitted with a third brake light at the rear, and attached with Malaysian stickers dictating the legal speed limit.
Currently, several SBS Transit Mercedes-Benz Citaro & MAN A22 buses are registered for cross-border operations.
Buses operating on Service 160A or the Service 160 special departures from Bukit Batok Road to Jurong East do not need to be APAD-Registered as they do not cross the border into Malaysia.

Actually quite foolish that the compensation due to 160 skipping Jurong East Bus Interchange and extending to Jurong Town Hall Bus Interchange,
Is only calling at that one bus stop outside Jurong East MRT station.
What about the other direction, which is more important, cuz people take that to Johor Bahru?
I’m talking about the bus stop outside the CPF building and along Jurong Gateway Road.
160 currently never call at that bus stop.
They really should make 160 call at that bus stop, to ensure a 100% compensation for affected passengers who actually take 160 at Jurong East Bus Interchange one.
Walking to Jurong Town Hall Bus Interchange from Jurong East MRT station may not be a workable solution, especially since have to climb up climb down a few times.
Hopefully they can also let 160 call at the bus stop outside the CPF building along Jurong Gateway Road, since they already letting 160 call at the bus stop opposite which connects straight to Jurong MRT station one.
Maybe it’s just that they accidentally miss out.
If that’s the case, hopefully they can do some patching up, by saying that the bus stop outside the CPF building along the Jurong Gateway Road also got call.
(I check the poster again, really don’t have).
The CPF building stop has always been only for buses turning left to JTH Road, even though the bus stop opposite was added as an alighting point for most buses (though not all, for some reason) when JEBI shifted over. So that’s probably the logic, along with not wanting to bring cross-border crowds to the bus stop and diverting them to JTHBI (though I assume most people crossing the border would go to Kranji? unsure) In any case 870 also isn’t calling at the CPF building bus stop, and I think the logic for it is that for people coming from the MRT they’ll walk along the big overpass which connects to both interchanges, so the CPF bus stop not being available probably wouldn’t be felt as much
I waited very long for a K230UB with SPAD to appear on this service, but all I saw was Mercedes-Benz buses. This was in April.
