Peak Period Short Service 240P was a Peak Period Short Service from Lakeside MRT Station and looping at Jurong West Street 64, passing through Corporation Road, Boon Lay Place and Boon Lay Drive. Operating during weekday peak hours, it ran alongside SBS Transit Feeder 240 and alleviates crowding on high-demand sectors during peak hours. Peak Period Short Service 240P was replaced by SBS Transit Service 240M and withdrawn on 01 Sep 2016.

Service 240P duplicates Feeder 240, serving between Lakeside MRT Station and Boon Lay during the weekday peak hours. While Feeder 240 terminates at Boon Lay Bus Interchange, PPSS 240P loops around Boon Lay MRT Station, via Jurong West Central 2, 3 and Street 64.
Operated using private coaches from Tong Tar Transport, the route helps to relieve frequent overcrowding on Service 240. It is the second PPSS service to be introduced.
Peak Period Short Services operate at least five trips per hour during Weekday AM and PM peak periods. This initiative taps on the resources of Private Bus Operators to run shorter bus services to augment the resources of the Public Transport Operators (PTOs).
