Bus Service 44 is a trunk service connecting Punggol Coast to Changi Airport. The service operates non-stop between Punggol and the Airport via Pasir Ris Industrial Drive 1, Halus Link, the Tampines Expressway (TPE) and the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE).
The route caters primarily to airport employees and Punggol residents commuting during peak hours. Operations are limited to weekday peak periods, with:
- Morning trips towards Changi Airport, terminating at Bus Stop 95159 – Airport Blvd (near SATS Flight Kitchen), and
- Evening trips towards Punggol Coast, starting from Bus Stop 95151 – Airport Blvd (Airport Police Station).
Both morning and evening trips serve all Passenger Terminal Buildings at Changi Airport.
Alignment & Benefits
Bus Service 44 is similar to an express variant of the existing Bus Service 34, which also connects Punggol Coast and Changi Airport. However, Service 44 operates a modified direct route within Punggol, plying Punggol Way and Punggol Central, while skipping Sumang Walk, Punggol Road, and the Tampines sector altogether. This alignment also benefits residents of Punggol East, who are not served by the existing Service 34.
This direct alignment reduces travel time and offers an express link between Punggol and the Airport. With no intermediate stops, commuters enjoy a point-to-point ride comparable to express services, despite being classified as a trunk service. It thus charges regular distance fares, and passengers can travel using valid concession passes.
Potential benefits of Bus Service 44 are:
- Relieve passenger loads on Service 34 during peak hours
- Ease congestion on Services 110 and 858, which connect the TPE corridor to Changi Airport, via the TPE (Punggol Rd) bus stop
- Provide a faster one-seat journey for airport workers, reducing journey times compared to travelling via Tampines
This addition complements broader network planning in the northeast, particularly in anticipation of future rail developments. The Punggol–Changi alignment of Service 44 mirrors the Cross Island Line (CRL) corridor, including the CRL Punggol Extension (targeted for completion in 2032) and the future CRL extension to Changi Airport Terminal 5 (expected in the mid-2030s).
Background
Plans for Service 44 were first revealed in June 2025, when MP Sun Xueling announced that an express variant of Service 34 was under study to enhance connectivity between Punggol and the airport. This service was subsequently implemented under the Bus Connectivity Enhancement Programme (BCEP), which facilitates the introduction of new bus services and the enhancement of existing bus services.
The introduction of Service 44 sees the first new bus service to serve Changi Airport in eight years; the previous being Bus Service 110, which was introduced in October 2017 in tandem with the opening of Changi Airport Terminal 4.
As with other peak-hour-only services, if Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve, or Chinese New Year’s Eve falls on a weekday, evening departures may be brought forward to earlier in the afternoon. The operator will announce revised timings closer to those dates.
Changi Airport Operations
At Changi Airport, Service 44 serves all Passenger Terminal Buildings (PTBs) — Terminals 3, 1, 2, and 4 — in sequence. Bus stops for Terminals 1–3 are integrated into basement-level driveways, which also function as cargo loading and unloading bays. Before entering these secured zones, security checks are conducted for unattended or suspicious articles.
Due to height restrictions in the basement areas, double-decker buses are not permitted. When the basement is closed, buses may be diverted to the respective Departure Drives where temporary bus stops are activated.
Onboard buses serving Changi Airport, security announcements remind passengers to alert Bus Captains to any suspicious persons or items.

I am sure the timing will be extended
Weekdays 0600-0900 / 1700-2000
Saturdays 0600-1300
I know that 44 is an express bus service to Changi Airport, but why doesn’t it also serves the Sumang area like 34, since it is a Punggol-Changi Airport express service. Looking at the bus stop along Sumang Walk like Opp 322CP and Blk 315B, I see alot of demand with 34 in the morning, in this way those who want an express service along these areas heading to Changi Airport will be able to benefit from it, and it would be able to gain a larger much more substantial ridership than the current route. In fact most people in these areas who have been asking for an express service for 34 end up not receiving it in the end. And would have to still rely on 34 for their morning routes.
And in my opinion, I feel that they should make it as a loop service, and yes they can still keep the 15min frequency and this would allow those in the morning who live at Punggol and have just arrived at the airport in the morning to get a trip back especially if booking a cab is not the most suitable and economical option for them.
And make it a full day service but maybe start slightly later than 34, like from 0535 to 2335 or extend operating hours like from 0535-0900hrs for the morning peak and 1800-2035hrs during the evening while still keeping the loop.
However if not this then make 44 share the same line with 34 along Berth 3 of the Interchange considering during the Evening peak no buses of service 44 are departing from Punggol Coast ITH.
That’s it, I don’t really know but what are your suggestions and do you agree?
if 44 gets really high demand, it should then operate daily from 0600 – 2330 amend to loop at changi airport like other airport services (aside from 36)
Why not stop at the pair of bus stops along Pasir Ris Dr 12 to benefit the residents there?
Just take 53 bruh. 44 is meant to be a faster connection from punggol to airport
Hello?! It is only a single pair of bus stops along the road which 44 is plying. 53 still need to merry-go-round across Pasir Ris. Good spot for 44 to capture more passengers
Hello then you go talk to your mp la. you think that bus supposed to stop at pasir meh? U cannot read ah the potential benefits of 44 ah? Capture more passengers your lampah la
Finally 44 will serve very near Punggol East, Blk 649! I have been waiting for this day. Hopefully there will be a new bus from Punggol to Woodlands passing by Punggol Central, Punggol East, Woodlands Ave 6, 7. Admiralty stn too. Hope Punggol Estates will have better services.
