SMRT Bus Service 825 serves landed houses and condominiums within Lentor Estate, connecting residents to and from Yio Chu Kang MRT and Bus Interchange. It operates only on weekdays and Saturday mornings. Outside of Service 825’s operating hours, there are no bus services serving within Lentor Estate and residents have to walk in from Yio Chu Kang Road.
Service 825 is a unique example of a public bus route operated with minibuses, which are registered as “Excursion Buses”.
The BYD C6 buses are leased from BYD (Singapore) Pte Ltd, and operated by SMRT Buses Ltd on this bus service. The service was operated by a full fleet of wheelchair-accessible BYD C6 buses by late December 2019.
Bus Service 825 will serve the upcoming Lentor MRT Station along the Thomson-East Coast Line.
Previously, SMRT operated Premium Bus Service 529 which plied the exact same route as Service 825 but charged Premium fares, operating during Saturday afternoons and evenings. It was discontinued and withdrawn after 31 Dec 2016.

Should exchange this with 850E
Wonder if 825 was holding up the tender for Senbawang bus package. Now it has attained WAB status, so LTA can call for tender immediately. Hopefully SBST loses, as its underpayment of 5 drivers who are suing the company with M Ravi’s help has made headlines.
No need to use minibus for bus 825, use normal SMRT buses la! SMRT minibuses can use for MRT early closures/late opening.
There’s some roads in Lentor estate that are really narrow. The service U-turns at a 2-lane road junction, something which normal 12m buses are unable to do. Maneuvering in such narrow roads are also not easy.
Mini buses has less passengers capacity to carry much as a regular bus and plus, the circle line mrt holds 931 people per train. In addition,They chose the DD(Double Decker)to operate the mrt early closure and besides, early closures/late opening are rush hour so DD is the best option. Why use this mini buses where they usually carry about 20 to 50 passengers(depends whether they allow you to stand in the bus)where a DD can carry 90 to 130.You can say but bus service 284(one of the shortest bus route ever in sg which the length of the route is 1.7km),yeah but tbh,it depends on what the operator thinks buses should be put in.They can also choose what bus to operate. How about bus service 902(which the travel length is 1.1km),well,if it loops around a poly school, then they will be more people(considering most of the passenger might be poly student)so they use single deckers for the route.Bus 825 use mini bus cause of how much people ride on the bus on peak and non peak hour. For sure the bus operator knows what they are doing.
Will be back to SMRT buses if they lose Yishun under the Seletar bus package
I think Yishun will only operate some busses under Seletar.
No need for PC plate la..Give to SBST better as started at Yio Chu Kang..LTA so messy.
Can exchange 852 for this service
