SMRT Bus Service 973 is a trunk service plying between Bukit Panjang and Hume Avenue, passing through Pending Rd, Petir Rd and Hillview Ave, connecting Pending, Petir and Hume residents with Hume, Hillview and Bukit Panjang MRT Stations along the Downtown Line. It was launched on 26 February 2017.

Bus Service 973 is a short trunk service from Bukit Panjang to Hume Avenue, mainly serving residents along Hume Avenue and Petir Road with direct links to both Hillview and Bukit Panjang MRT Stations. It also serves Hume MRT Station upon its opening in February 2025.

A day before the service launch, on Saturday, 25 February 2017, a promotional pre-launch event was held for the advisers from the Holland-Bukit Timah GRC as well as Grassroot Leaders and residents.

really wish that bus 973 can be extended to Bukit Batok Interchange and MRT station to strengthen the bus link between Bukit Batok and Bukit Penjang as resident in this two areas are keen to have a direct bus from between Bukit Batok and Bukit Penjang.

Thank you for bus 973. I am a resident of Eco Sanctuary and my children are studying in Bukit Batok. It will help if we can extend bus 973 to Bukit Batok Interchange. I believe there are many residents in Chestnut Ave would like to go to Bukit Batok interchange or MRT and we have to change buses. For your consideration please.
The route of this bus is rather short. I am glad that this bus serve to supplement bus 966 and 700 via the Petir Road. I was abit disappointed as I was hoping there would be a bus that would connect busstop B44379/B44371 and B44219/B44211 together. I think the route of this bus should be extended to ply the road to ITE College West and Choa Chu Kang interchange too to supplement both bus 187 and bus 67 due to student demand. 🙂
