Changi Airport T5 Bus Interchange

Changi Airport T5 Bus Interchange (final name TBC) is an upcoming Integrated Transport Hub (ITH) to be built as part of the Ground Transportation Centre (GTC) at Changi Airport Terminal 5. The new terminal is due for completion in the mid-2030s.

Rail connections will be offered via Changi Airport Terminal 5 MRT Station, which serves the Thomson-East Coast Line and Cross Island Line.

Terminal 5 is being built within the 1,080-hectare Changi East development, effectively doubling the size of the existing Changi Airport. It is designed with the flexibility to be built in phases, in tandem with travel demand growth.

In its first phase, Terminal 5 is being built to handle about 50 million passengers a year. This will allow Changi Airport to handle up to 140 million passengers a year, up from 90 million handled by the existing 4 passenger terminals.

At the ground breaking ceremony for Terminal 5 on 14 May 2025, Changi Airport Group mentioned that the GTC will be built next to Terminal 5, with train, bus, taxi and other transport services for travellers to connect to the rest of Singapore.

According to plans filed to the Building and Construction Authority, the project title for the T5 GTC is: “Proposed Terminal 5 GTC: Proposed Erection of 1 Block 4-Storey Integrated Transport Hub with 2 Mezzanines, Bus Interchange, Coach Facilities & 2 Blocks 3/4 Storey Multi-Storey Carparks, including Three Levels Basement (Comprising 2 Levels Basement Carpark, Underground MRT Station and Tunnels), Primary Landside Roadways and Other Ancillary Facilities on Lots 05121M (PT) and 05123V (PT) MK31 at Tanah Merah Coast Road (Changi Planning Area)”.

I have a weird feeling: they may be thinking of hubs and spoke.

Meaning to say: all the bus routes that go to Changi Airport, next time will only go to Changi Airport Terminal 5 Bus Interchange. The entire routing in Changi Airport will be DD friendly.

This means to say: passengers when taking bus to Changi Airport can only take it to Terminal 5. To get to other terminals, they have to take the sky train network for the first and last mile connection.

    Here is the scenario
Probably T1/2/3 bus stops is on ground and continued their journey to T5 or A new bus service from T5 looping at Airport T1/2/3/4..I strongly feel that T5 is DD friendly.
Most probably under Tampines bus package.

Or they could do what is already done at Heathrow Airport. Make inter-terminal transfers on the MRT network free of charge. And then supplement it with a T4 to T5 inter-terminal shuttle bus
