Since the withdrawal of 971 please reintroduce back 700/700A. Don’t amend 972 and withdraw 972M. 700/700A will solve all the Bukit panjang to town and shenton way area. Sometimes bus can be much better compared to MRT as they can be cheaper and more convenient for some especially low income and old people. See Hong Kong, why they put equally good bus services and MRT lines even thou sometimes the buses run parallel to MRT lines and they still succeed? LTA should learn from them instead of increasing fares and cut down bus services.

Bus 972 is only a small changes due to senja link become one way traffic so heading towards city is largely unchanged. Cannot bring back 700 cause LTA need to pay more cost like billon of dollars to pay tax and resource.

I don’t understand why LTA is making Services 920, 972, 972M & 976 into a 1-way traffic while amending to Senja Road and Jelapang LRT. They can just eventually covert them into bi-directional way traffic to serve Jelapang LRT and Senja Road.

It is part of the new Senja/KJE flyover interchange to improve traffic flow while towards the the new flyover, Cause in the past resident of Zhenghua (Bukit Panjang) compliant about the traffic jam and has no direct connection to kje from senja, now the lta is going to make the new flyover so that resisdent of bukit panjang can have easy access to both bound of KJE. You can see more information of the project at One motoring under Senja/KJE Interchange.

If 972M will continue to be a full day bus service, then what is the point of scrapping 700?
Plus, since 972M would be taking the longer route via petir road, demand to stevens and beyond will decrease on 972M eventually. This would also cause 972 to be more crowded during peak hours due to its shorter routing.

After reading your comment I realized 972M will ply exact same route as 700 from pending to Orchard. If 700 was withdrawn due to low demand (even though it went all the way to Shenton Way/Suntec, will 972M encounter low demand instead? (assuming resident from Bukit Panjang ring road/Senja will prefer bus 972 to town, otherwise why didn’t they just amend 700 to follow new 972M route in the beginning?)

972 should extend to Shenton Way terminal while 972M continues to loop at Orchard Road. On weekends, only 972M should operate.

Well you know LTA bus planning is managed by group of so called gong-gong scholars..Save 1 bit but lose 2 bits..They always think bus parallel to MRT is a waste of resources
