Tagore MRT Station is a future underground station along the Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL) Stage 2 between Springleaf and Lentor stations. The shell station is built off Tagore Drive, and is in the vicinity of Tagore Industrial Estate.

Tagore station has two platform provisions in an island platform arrangement as part of the shell station.


Construction

The shell station provision for Tagore MRT Station was constructed as part of Contract T208 – Construction of Springleaf Station and Tunnel. The contract was awarded to Leighton Contractors (Asia) Limited (Singapore Branch) – John Holland Pty Ltd Joint Venture (JV) at a contract sum of S$383.3 million in November 2013.

As part of the contract, a cut and cover tunnel structure at Tagore was constructed which serves as a shell station provision for Tagore station. Only structural works were completed, in the form of a station box.

    If lta had this station in mind, they should have skipped the code (TE5) to reserve it for this station. Same goes with founder’s memorial station.
