The Mitsubishi Crystal Mover (C810D) is a rubber-tyred automated people mover (APM) train operating on the Sengkang–Punggol LRT (SPLRT) network. These trains are the third-generation rolling stock for the Sengkang & Punggol LRT Line.
A total of 25 trains were procured by the Land Transport Authority (LTA), which are manufactured by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Mihara, Japan. Each train operates as a two-car set, for a total of 50 light rail vehicles.
Revenue service commenced on 15 July 2025. When fully delivered & deployed by end-2028, these trains will fully replace the first generating rolling stock (C810 trains) on the SPLRT network.
Procurement
On 5 February 2021, LTA announced plans to procure 17 two-car trains to increase capacity on the Sengkang and Punggol LRT lines.
In February 2022, the contract—valued at approximately $439 million—was awarded to a consortium comprising Mitsubishi Corporation, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Engineering, Ltd, and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd.
On 9 May 2023, LTA announced an additional order for 8 more two-car trains, valued at around $87 million.
The contract also includes the supply of a new signalling system, guideway system, and depot equipment for the expanded Sengkang LRT depot, which houses all SPLRT trains.
These new trains represent the third generation of rolling stock for the SPLRT, following the earlier Mitsubishi Crystal Mover models: the C810, which entered service in 2003, and the C810A, introduced from 2016.
According to the LTA Annual Report 2021/22, the procurement falls under Contract 810D: Trains, Signalling System, Guideway System and Depot Equipment for Sengkang-Punggol Light Rapid Transit Depot Expansion.
Replacement of Existing Trains
The C810D trains will replace all first-generation C810 trains. The initial order of 17 two-car trains in Feb 2022 replaces the existing 25 C810 one-car trains, while the additional order of 8 two-car trains in May 2023 replaces the 8 two-car C810 trains.
With the remaining 8 two-car trains, the Sengkang-Punggol LRT network will be operating with a fleet of 33 two-car trains in the future (8 two-car C810A trains & 25 two-car C810D trains) after all new trains are deployed in end-2028.
Delivery
Delivery for the first 17 two-car trains procured were initially expected to take place from 2024 to 2027, while the additional 8 two-car trains ordered will be delivered from 2H 2027.
On 23 November 2024, the first 2 two-car trains for this contract arrived in Singapore for testing and commissioning at Sengkang LRT Depot.
These trains were expected to commence revenue service in Q3 2025 according a Facebook post by the Land Transport Authority in November 2024. This was later revised to end-June 2025 as mentioned in a commemorative report by the Pasir Ris – Punggol Town Council in April 2025. In mid-Jun 2025, a Facebook post by the Ang Mo Kio Town Council used the LTA commencement date of Q3 2025.
Rollout
Revenue service commenced on 15 July 2025 with the deployment of vehicle 59 on the Punggol LRT East Loop.
The new trains are planned to be deployed on the Punggol East & West Loops over the initial 2 weekends (19, 20, 26 & 27 July 2025) before being deployed for weekday service towards the end of July 2025.
The remaining 23 two-car trains will arrive progressively and enter passenger service from Q3 2025 onwards.

Back to Trains

If the LTA are getting C810D, where is C810B and C810C.
C810C is the contract for SKD expansion, not sure about C810B. Apparently C810E exists too.
The C810D trains will likely to enter service on 23 June, 27 June or 30 June subject to changes.
Why does it take so long to test?
They are coming out on most nights now, after the last trains.
First 2 trains (V58 & V59) delivered to SKD as of 23/11/24.
i hope it can be perserved😢
