I propose a new service linking Woodlands to Canberra, allowing Canberra residents to have a single-bus journey to Woodlands, while also increasing connectivity along roads which are currently only served by 1 or 2 services.

Service 862: Woodlands ITH – Canberra MRT (Loop)

Woodlands Interchange, Woodlands Avenue 3, Woodlands Avenue 5, Woodlands Avenue 12, Woodlands Avenue 10, Sembawang Way, Admiralty Drive, Wellington Circle, Montreal Drive, Montreal Link, Sembawang Road, Canberra Street, Canberra Walk, Canberra Cres, Canberra Way, Canberra Link (LOOP), Canberra View, Canberra Street, Sembawang Rd, Montreal Link, Montreal Drive, Wellington Circle, Admiralty Drive, Sembawang Way, Woodlands Avenue 10, Woodlands Avenue 12, Woodlands Avenue 5, Woodlands Avenue 3, Woodlands Interchange

This new service would have the following key benefits:
Firstly, there would be a new direct link to Woodlands for Canberra residents, allowing them a quick connection to the regional center without connections. This service would be quite a popular option, as not only would it be a relatively straight connection to Woodlands but also be fast due to an express sector along Woodlands Avenue 12.
Secondly, this new service would form a straight line link for the blocks along Admiralty Drive, Wellington Circle and Montreal Drive, allowing them to bypass Sembawang on their way to other destinations.
Thirdly, this would allow students from Canberra and Wellington Primary Schools to access Woodlands and Canberra, acting as an enhancement of Service 861M, which could be withdrawn.
Fourthly, this would also reduce the dependency of Woodlands Avenue 5 residents on Service 962 as their only bus service. This service has been routed such that it will not completely duplicate 962, but merely complement it by offering alternatives.

Feel free to provide feedback 🙂
