Bus Service 140 enhances connectivity for residents of Geylang Bahru, Bendemeer and St George’s Estate, connecting to key transport nodes, such as Lorong 1 Geylang Bus Terminal, Kallang and Boon Keng MRT stations, for transfers to other bus services or rail lines, along with other amenities in the vicinity. It is the thirty-fifth (35th) bus service to be introduced under the Bus Service Enhancement Programme (BSEP).
The route serves St. George’s Estate, a small residential area without bus connections prior to Bus Service 140, calling at three new bus stops within the estate (a pair along St. George’s Road, and one along St. Wilfred Road). It also provides residents of Geylang Bahru with a direct service to Boon Keng MRT, previously not served by existing services.
In September 2025, the service was amended to ply Towner Rd, McNair Rd & Balestier Rd as part of the Land Transport Authority’s Bus Connectivity Enhancement Programme (BCEP), enhancing connectivity to Kallang Polyclinic and Boon Keng MRT Station.

140 Should ply the New Bus Stops along Towner/Mcniar Road for connectivity for Mcnair Road Residents to Boon Keng and Geylang Bahru MRT Stations
this is definitely possible, considering the whole fleet is SD, and they can make the roundabout
unless they downsize another svc in order to serve those bus stops
They finally did it, thank goodness, its been long awaited since before COVID…
(not to the St Wilfred residents tho, they’ll be mad)
