Bus Service 451 provides a faster connection for commuters travelling between the Keat Hong and Brickland estates and Bukit Gombak MRT Station. Operating as a limited-stop service, it provides a quicker alternative to Bus Service 991 during the weekday morning and evening peak hours.

The service replaces and enhances the former Short Trip Service 991C, which will be withdrawn on the same day. Compared to 991C, the new service covers more of Choa Chu Kang estate, while also being enhanced to operate in both directions during peak periods — towards Bukit Gombak MRT in the morning, and towards Keat Hong Link in the evening. The route also plies non-stop between Brickland Road and Bukit Gombak MRT, skipping two intermediate stop pairs along Bukit Batok West Avenue 5 that Service 991 and 991C previously served. This adjustment allows for shorter journey times and a more efficient connection to the rail network.

This limited-stop service is introduced under the Bus Connectivity Enhancement Programme (BCEP). It enhances connectivity for estates located farther away from transport nodes.

If the eves of Christmas, New Year’s Day, and Chinese New Year fall on a weekday, the Evening Peak departures may be brought forward to the afternoon. Revised departure times will be provided by the operator closer to the affected date.

451 should go to TTS and 984 can go back to SMRT.
