The BYD B90 AV is an 8.65-metre low-floor battery-electric autonomous single-deck bus manufactured by Chinese vehicle manufacturer BYD, with bodywork by Zhuhai Guangtong Vehicle Manufacture Co., Ltd.
The bus is scheduled to be exhibited at Singapore Urban Mobility Week (SUMW) 2026, held at Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre in November 2026. Product information for the bus was published through a showcase listing ahead of the event.
The bus features a promotional wrap bearing BYD and MOGOX logos, along with public bus equipment such as Electronic Destination Signage (EDS) and Passenger Information Display System (PIDS).
Autonomous Driving System
The BYD B90 AV incorporates an SAE Level 4 autonomous driving system using LiDAR, cameras, radar and RTK-GNSS positioning, alongside cellular vehicle-to-everything (C-V2X) communications.
According to BYD, the bus features redundant drive-by-wire steering and braking systems, supported by backup power architecture designed to meet ISO 26262 ASIL-D functional safety requirements.
BYD and MOGOX were previously part of the consortium awarded the Land Transport Authority’s (LTA) Contract PT832 – Pilot Deployment of Autonomous Buses on Public Bus Services in October 2025, alongside MKX Technologies. Under the contract, six smaller BYD B70A02 autonomous electric buses were delivered to Singapore for planned deployment on public bus services under the LTA autonomous public bus pilot. However, these deployments were subsequently cancelled in October 2026.
The subsequent appearance of the larger B90 AV, featuring a promotional wrap bearing BYD and MOGOX logos, autonomous driving hardware and public bus equipment such as Electronic Destination Signage (EDS) and Passenger Information Display System (PIDS), is noteworthy. The intended operational role of the B90 AV has not been announced, and its relationship, if any, to the earlier autonomous public bus pilot remains unclear.

Exterior
The BYD B90 AV features front and rear bodywork styling closely resembling the larger BYD B12E03A electric buses delivered under LTA’s Contract PT602. Similar features include full-colour Electronic Destination Signage (EDS) and a rear emergency exit hatch.
The bus is fitted with two passenger doors, comprising a single-leaf inward-sliding front entrance door and a double-leaf rear door equipped with an electrically operated wheelchair ramp.
At 8.65 meters, we are getting closer to the length of a standard single decker bus already (12 meters).
